The bell went at 12:50. Her long blonde hair bounced off her shoulders as she stood up. It was lunch time, and all I could think about was her. Phoebe Rothman. She was perfect. Blue eyes, tanned skin and a memorable smile. Everyone liked her, though we all knew we would never have a chance with her, especially with her boyfriend around. His name was Drew Button. He was rugged, athletic and all the girls adored him, but it didn't stop him from hurting the only one he apparently "loved".

I woke up only to another day of school. I say only like I was expecting more than what I had. I don't know, but waking up to a mansion and a black Audi R8 outside really wouldn't be bad. I'm not a rich boy, I've always grown up in a middle class family and it's not bad. I love my family and I wouldn't trade them for the world. I got out of bed and looked straight into the mirror. My body looked scrawny in the mirror, not anorexic, just a little chubby with little muscle. My hair was all messy, I have medium hair that's jet black and curly and my deep green eyes were drooping. I looked my self in the eye and whispered, "Another day in hell."

I walked through our old wooden front door and stepped on to the cold concrete. Everything was quiet except for the sound of trees rustling, you could barely see them through the fog. It was peaceful, but the silence was soon broken. I heard someone shouting my name a few streets away.
"ANDY! OI ANDY!"
It only took me a few minutes to recognise the voice. My friend Jack, aka Loudmouth, was running towards me waving his hand in the air. He wore a black, wool coat with vintage braided buttons and an oversized collar. I couldn't stand it. Something about the buttons made me cringe and so did the itchiness of the wool.
"Hey Jack, what a pleasant surprise." I mumbled sarcastically
I stood waiting for him to catch up, he stepped with a thump making a loud bang every time he put his foot down. He soon came to a stop and placed his arms on my shoulders.
"Gee, thanks Burrows!" He said puffing, with each gust of wind hitting my face.
"Yuck!" I yelled in disgust. "What did you eat for breakfast? And do you really have to call me by my last name?"
"Oh aha, sorry." Jack said in embarrassment. "I had a cheese, ham and garlic toasted sandwich."
"Well let's keep walking, we don't want to be late for class."
We walked down the street, our shadows following us. It looked like we were going to be late. Another detention to add to my list, my mum told me I'd be grounded if I had another detention. I got so mad that I didn't even say I loved her when I left this morning. It sounds like a small concern, but you never know which "I love you" will be your last.
