I got up, got out of bed and started my usual school day with Maya joining me
for breakfast then we would take the subway to school as normal

During class Dad announced to the class "today we will look at slavery, but first Maya, you want to say something to the class?"
She slowly stood up and whispered to the class "I... I'm... Mo- moving sch-ools." She sobbed quietly going back to her seat and then she raised her hand and she asked to be excused, Maya then got up her chair and ran out of the room. The whole class heard her pouring her eyes out and I couldn't stand it but rush after her.

I ran straight to the girls restroom and I saw her there sitting by the sink, her head buried in her knees looking like a little ball. I calmly reached her hand and she looked up and curled a little smile. Maya mumbled "I'm sorry Riley, I wish I could just live in this moment forever and be with you here."
I replied back "Me too." Tears started dribbling down my face. We hugged for a few minutes which seemed like seconds and eventually we had to go back to class, I really wished me and Maya were the only two people on earth, so no one could pull us apart.
