Chapter 8

Naruto Pov

We've been walking for a few hours now and I've already tuned everyone out talking to Kurama.

"I wonder how long those two are going to hide"

I just hummed in response I know we've been followed since we first left the gate, I don't know how no one else spotted them I guess I gave them too much credit.

I already know Kakashi knew that we were being followed I can feel his worry and anxiety every time I move further away from him, but I can't help it I want to be closer to my mate but I know it would look suspicious even though I'm sure the two idiots won't notice but Tazuna might and I can't afford for anyone to know about us until I was strong enough, I guess I could kill him but I'm sure it won't come down to that I think.

"Sometimes kit I worry about how much I've influenced your mind then I just feel proud," Kuruma says with a wide grin

I creak a small smile while mentally nudging him

"By the time I met you Kuruma my sanity was hanging on by a thread. I'm just glad I did meet you because I finally realise how much the leaf was holding me back" I say

I abruptly feel a spike of chakra but it's not from the two that have been following us it feels different but somehow familiar I'll have to think about it after we reach our destination.

Kakashi's chakra suddenly spikes a bit I look up and see a puddle in the middle of the road.

"They do know that it hasn't rained in a few days right," I asked Kuruma already feeling his disbelief

"Honestly kit I'm not even surprised anymore how stupid humans can be"

As we pass the puddle no one notices anything wrong till we hear running footsteps behind us by the time we turn around and see Kakashi being held in place by chains, they have already started trying to pull him apart, I feel a flash of panic till my brain kicks into gear and I notice Kakashi is only feeling slight annoyance, breathing a sigh of relief before I see the two ninjas finally 'kill' Kakashi.

"AHHHH Kakashi-Sensei" yelled sakura tripping backward

"Your mate sure know how to be dramatic" Kurama grumbles

"I know, he's an idiot but I love him" I smile thinking of my mate

"Remember that when he shows up to the wedding late"

I just blush while imaging Guy-sensei and Lee singing about the spring of youth with their signature sunset in the background.

"AHHHH KIT WHYYY" Kurama yells trying to run away as Lee and Guy try trapping him in a hug.

I simply ignore him trying to push my blush down and focus on the situation, dropping into position in front of Tazuna but before the brothers could reach me their legs gave out and they tumbled towards the ground.

"Huh I guess the poison is faster acting than we thought"

"Yeah I guess I only added a few drops while passing the puddle"

"I'm surprised your mate didn't say anything when we passed the puddle"

"I think he wants to know if they were after us or the client"

Abruptly Kakashi appeared next to me before checking me over making sure I was okay.

"Well good job team 7, Tazuna we need to talk," Kakashi says leading our client away leaving us with the dying demon brothers

By the time Kakashi and Tazuna came back, I had given the brothers the antidote and tied them to the tree

"I would have just let them die' Kuruma grumbles

"We can't afford for anyone to find the cause of death, I still need to keep a low profile"

"I know"

"The mission has gone above C rank we will be returning to Kohona," Kakashi says while Tazuna hangs back looking guilty

"I want to continue the mission," I say maintaining eye contact

"Naruo our client lied about our mission our team will need to go back to the leaf"

"I know but I'm going to continue this mission he needs help and I won't run away if I can help," I say

"The dobe's right we agreed to do this mission we can't back out now," Sasuke says

Never thought I would see the day we both agreed on something, I saw sakura already looking pale but determined.

"We should finish the mission Sasuke kun is right," Sakura says

"Okay just remember stay alert and keep together," Kakashi says I know he's worried about me but I can handle it.

Finally arriving at the boat we all found a seat with Sakura trying to sit on Sasuke's lap I sat next to Kakashi leaning my leg against his while looking at the scenery.

I could still feel the familiar chakra moving between the trees watching us looking closer, I could see that there was a second charka signature a few meters away from the first one I couldn't get a read on the second signature but I know it was watching us to

Running my hand through my hair I sigh letting my shoulders slump, everything is slowly starting to speed up it's getting a little overwhelming. Feeling a slight pressure on my knee I looked down and saw Kakashi's hand resting on my knee looking up I saw he was looking the other way looking towards the dock we were approaching turning to the idiot duo I saw duck ass had his eyes closed trying to pray for patience I'm guessing while the pink blob was daying dreaming of becoming Mrs. Uchiha from the glazed look in her eyes.

"I don't know who to feel more sorry for the Uchiha for attracting this leach or the fangirl who doesn't see that her future husband was probable gay "

"Don't feel sorry for them feel sorry for me I have to witness this every day," I say with a shutter my mind flowing back to the rumors I heard about sakura's starker tendencies I didn't even know how she managed to break into his house and steal his clothes when she can't even finish a few laps around the training ground before passing out from exhaustion, I guess that's the power of a crazy fangirl.

Eventually, we made it to the docks and started headed towards Tazuna's home while the boat driver raced away as we started walking the bush a few feet away started rustling, I quickly threw a Kunai towards the bush after sensing the familiar chakra.

"NARUTO what do you think you're doing!!" screeched the pink blob getting her fist ready to try and hit me, ignoring her I maintained looking at the same spot I felt the chakra till a white rabbit came jumping out I can practically feel the relief going through the minds of the others before Kashi yelled 'DUCK' falling to the ground pulling Tazuna with me my head just missed the large sword being swang at us before a man jumped out after landing on his sword.

"He does know he's facing the wrong way right," Kurama says I can practically hear his thoughts echoing mine.

"What a dumbass," we say at the same time already feeling secondhand embarrassment he finally turns around and I see his face for the first time his eyes widen the second he looks at me I know I'm in a similar situation.

"DAD" I yell

"KID" my dad yells

"DAD" everyone else yells out

"ooh I can already feel the lecture coming," I say trying to slowly inch backward while everyone was in shock

"Hahahahaha oh kit you know you can never hind from him I guess the signature you felt before was Haku that why it was so familiar" Kurama yells I get even more scared dads bad enough but paired with Huku I'm dead.
