"My funeral"
"I'm going to die."
Goshiki swallowed the lump in his throat.
"I'm going to die and I'm sick of people telling me I'm not."
A sigh escaped his lips.
"Some people plan out their funeral before they die. Their coffin and outfit and location and even funds. I really don't care about mine."
In a strange way, Goshiki was relieved. He had to do the funeral planning mostly alone with some help from Tendou's mother. It wasn't all that special.
The death was far worse then the funeral.
Life must go on though. As much as Goshiki wanted the entire world to pause and feel the way he did, it simply didn't. Every day leading up to the event he interacted with those just going about their lives. They worked as though nothing had even happened. They played like the world didn't just lose its most important person.
They mocked him. Not literally, but to him they did.
During the entire service, Goshiki couldn't help but watch the door. Maybe now Ushijima would finally have the nerve to show his face. Maybe he'd show the slightest bit of remorse for the negligence he'd proven to have toward his boyfriend.
"All I want is to see him before that day comes. I just have to make it to December. The only thing I have left is to hope that day will come."
No such thing happened. After reading Satori's last documented words, he slammed the book shut.
