"Liv! Over here!" Sonny Monroe calls out to her best friend. A blonde blue-eyed girl rushes over and hugs her.

"Hi, Sonny! You're not gonna believe what Maddie did at recess today. She was playing the hoop-y ball game, or something and the ball hit the puddle, which splashed all over my fabulicious dress-"

"Liv, I gotta tell you something important," Sonny said as she led her best friend to the swings.

"More important than my dress-that-got-totes-ruined-by-the-ball-game thing?" Liv asked.

"Yeah. Umm, so my mom and dad told me something really important last night," Sonny takes in a huge breath before continuing. "They told me they're getting divorced," A tear runs down her cheek as she gently swings.

"Oh, Sonny, I'm so sorry." Liv gets off her swing and stands in front of her. "I wish I could do something to help." Liv hugs Sonny, and Sonny returns the hug, but a few moments later Sonny pushes her away.

"It's not just that. My mom and I are moving to West Appleton next week, Liv" Sonny is full-on sobbing now, and Liv drops down to her knees.

"B-but that can't happen. We're besties, and besties don't live hours away from each other."

"We can call each other everyday, and we can visit during school breaks," Sonny laughs. "And I know I'll see you in Hollywood someday. You'll be on Broadway, and I'll see you in all the popular movies and tv shows." They hug for what seems like hours until they hear a high-pitched voice.

"Liv, Mom's waiting for us! We gotta go!!" Joey screams at his sister.

Liv turns her head back to Sonny and hugs her tight again.

"I swear you'll be my BFF forever. I'll see you tomorrow, Sonny! Don't worry, we won't be separated! I promise!!" Liv calls as she gets dragged away by Maddie and Joey. Sonny waves, wipes her eyes, and runs to the car where her mom is waiting for her.

Surely enough, a week passes and there is nothing the girls can do to stop Sonny from leaving Stevens Point. They're at Sonny's front lawn, where Sonny's mom's car is filled with the extra stuff the movers didn't pack. Sonny and Liv are standing there, unable to really say goodbye.

"Hey, honey, we have to get going," Sonny's mom, Connie, says to Sonny.

They hug a final time before Sonny whispers in Liv's ear, "I'll never forget you, Liv Rooney. I know you'll become an actress like you've always dreamed of, so never give up. We're BFF's till the end, right?" Liv nods and laughs and hugs Sonny even tighter.

"You'll always be the girl who could make me laugh, even when I wanted to cry. You'll make so many other people laugh, too. Love you, Sonny."

"Love you, Liv"

Sonny gets in the car with her mom and they drive away, Sonny and Liv waving to each other the entire way, until they couldn't see each other anymore.

A few months later, Liv gets the lead in a show called "Sing It LOUD!" like Sonny predicted, and five years later, Sonny gets a part in the sketch-comedy series "So Random"
