A cold breeze hit his face the snow getting in his hair as he climbed it was freezing.

He continued to climb as he got closer to the top he felt his heartbeat within his chest as his breath increased. He closed his eyes he felt nervous he was going to face a legend probably one of the strongest trainers alive.

As he kept climbing he saw him a male figure in front of him standing at the peak of the mountain "Red" he croaked out his throat was dry he tried to swallow but his efforts were in vain.

He grabbed the strap of his bag something stirred inside of him he couldn't help but feel uneasy. He wanted to challenge Red but the words died out in his dry throat.

He swallowed again but to no avail, a small voice rang in his head telling him that he would never beat Red that all his efforts were in vain that he was a failure.

'No, I came all the way here to battle Red I won't falter now' he thought to himself. As the memories of how he had gotten this far came to his head how he had chosen his starter when he had defeated the remnants of team rocket when he had caught ho-oh and Lugia. He had gotten so far he remembered how happy he felt seeing all his Pokemon evolve how proud he felt defeating Lance.....how empty he felt getting to the top. He could think of that now.

He started walking up the steps to the peak of the mountain and got closer to the Red he took in a deep breath. "I challenge you to a Pokemon battle!" He said.

He then took a step back as the Red started to turn around his cap slightly covering his face. Without saying a word red immediately went into battle taking out a Pokeball and releasing a Pokemon it was a Pickachu. You took in a deep breath and took out your Pokeball you had the perfect Pokemon for this you pressed the button on the ball and released a Flygon. "Flygon use earthquake!" You exclaimed as the ground started to shake and rocks started to burst out of the ground.

The Pickachu jumped into the air but before it could do anything You called out your next move "dragon pulse" the Pikachu had nowhere to go as a beam of energy came from Flygon and hit Red's Pokemon.

Red returned the Pikachu and sent out Blastoise I then returned Flygon and sent out Electivire. The Electivire let out a roar "thunder punch" you said lightning then started to envelop the Electivire's fist as it shot towards the Blastoise. The giant turtle turned around protecting itself with its shell the moment Electivire's fist connected with the shell a shockwave blasted debris everywhere. As the debris faded You had expected the Blastoise to have fainted but to your shock, it was still there.

The cannons on the back of the giant turtle started to move as streams of water shot towards my Pokemon "dodge" I said even though hydro cannon was a water-type move and would not be effective it still did a lot of damage I wasn't willing to take.

The Electivire dodged the hydro cannon and shot towards the Blastoise Lighting covered its fist as it hit Red's Pokemon square in the chest making the Pokemon faint.

Red returned the water Pokemon and sent out Venusaur you returned Electivire and sent out Arcanine ever since you had caught him when he was a Growlith he had always been loyal and trusted you. The small Pokemon had always tried to make you proud no matter what even as it evolved you could see how determined it looked. You took in a deep breath "Arcanine use fire blast" you said.

The Pokemon had taken in a deep breath and shot out a blast of fire towards the plant-like Pokemon but it missed and the fire dissipated before it could hit Venusaur. You saw the sad look on the pokemon's face and frowned at it.
