Rafael takes over the seat and clicks on the first article that pops out and scrolls down. "This publishing company was said to be really popular back in the day."
"Maybe we can ask the writer?," Xyrene asks. "Eleanor Aguilar," Rafael slowly spells it out as he types it in. She takes note of her contact details. He then clicks on the 'close' button and then followed by the power button.
The three look around, exit the internet cafe, and finally go home for the night.
Morning comes around like usual. First thing in the morning, Xyrene grabs her phone and journal from her bedside table. She taps on the phone icon and looks right and left, making sure she got the numbers right.
"Hello, good morning, po! Is this IDr. Elemer Aguilar?"
"Yes it is, how may I help you?"
"I want to have my bedroom designed?"
"Do you have the floor layout Ma'am, maybe we can meet po today at Cafe Arnedo? By the way, may I get your name?"
"Yes, I'm available today. My name's Erene Francisco."
"Okay, see you po!"
Xyrene pulls the phone away from her ear and dictates her fake name numerous times before officially starting her day.
Rafael tags along and Xyrene meets up with the interior designer.
"Good morning, po!," Xyrene greets him as they settle down.
"Sige po. Let's get started," Elmer says.
"Actually we're not here to have anything designed," Xyrene explains. The designer stops gathering papers from his bag and listens attentively in confusion. "We've learned that you used to be a journalist from 'The Taguig Chronicle' and we wou..." "Sorry I have to go," he cuts her off and rushes toward the exit.
Xyrene runs and follows him outside the cafe. Luckily, she manages to catch up to him. "Wait lang po!," her breath was shaky. "We can go to a more secrete place. We really need your help."
The man cautiously agrees and follows them back to the building where the publications office is. They then find a deep room and Rafael grabs chairs. The man sits across Xyrene and Rafael. His expressions were visibly uneasy.
