Gumi's P.O.V
I was sitting at my desk bored out of my mind when my friend Rin kagami came,
"Gumi-chan! Ohayou(good morning)! Guess what?"
"Nani?"
"We're going to have a transfer student here today. The best part about it is that it's a boy!"
"So?"
"So!? So, maybe he's cute." Rin said in a matter-of-fact attitude. Pouting at me.
"Rin, I don't really care."
"Hmmm. Something is wrong. You would always go crazy over guys. Hmmmm." Rin then leaned across my desk, too close for comfort. She was examining me with narrowed blue eyes and I felt nervous.
"Hmmm. Dark patches under eyes, nonchalant attitude, not fangirling, messy hair and uniform. Hmmm. I get!" Rin cheered.
"Get what?" I asked, agitated now.
"You were up all night watching anime and doing last minute homework weren't you?" Rin said triumphantly as she smirked, crossed her arms, and flared her nose. Dang! She read me clearly. Scary.
"Yea, I'm exhausted." I huffed out and slumped back into my chair, closing my eyes, yawning.
"Hehe. You're hilarious Gumi-san."
"Kiin Koon Kaan koon (Ringing bell)"
"Dangit. The bell rang." Rin pouted as she took her seat on the right side if me. Just as she took her seat, Meiko Sensei came in with a lanky boy in our school uniform. He wore red lens goggles on his head (like me), and had green hair and eyes that were like mine, but a bit darker. I couldn't help but blush, he was gorgeous.
Rin then pinched my arm and winced.
"Itai!" I whispered yelled.
"You're blushing Gumi." She teased.
"D-damare!" I whispered towards her. Just then, the boy spoke
"Watashi wa Megpoid Gumiya desu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu." He said and bowed.
"Thank you for the introduction Megpoid-san, feel free to sit anywhere you like." Meiko Sensei said as she began to teach.
Gumiya then walked down the row to my left and took sat down into the empty desk that was right next to me.
"A-ano, sumimasen, demo...haaa, is anyone sitting here?" Gumiya whispered leaning towards me. I felt my body tense up. He is close. Close!
"U-uun." I stuttered.
"Haaaa, youkata(I'm glad). Arigatou...ano... what's your name?"
"Watashi wa, Kamui Gumi desu. But just call me Gumi. You don't have to be formal with me. Hehe." I said. At first, Gumiya was shocked, but smiled and blushed.
"Honto desuka?" He asked nervously.
"Hai." I said, smiling. He is so cute!
"Then, is Gumi-san ok?" He asked as he faced forward and looked down at his desk. Smiling.
"un! Call me anything." I said cheerfully. Then, I heard Rin hold back a laugh and I shot a glare towards her. Then, she kept quiet. But, couldn't help but stare and smirk as she took notes.
Ignoring her, I went back to my own notes, glancing towards Gumiya who was also taking notes. Then, I saw something pop out of his shirt! An albino ferret poked it's little white head out of Gumiya's shirt and Gumiya quickly pushed the ferret back down, nervously.
"A-ano, Meiko Sensei, may I please use the restroom?" Gumiya asked, raising his hand.
"Sure, why not. It's just down the hall." Meiko sensei said. Going back to her lesson.
Gumiya ran out and left. Intrigued, I wanted to learn more.
"Meiko Sensei, may I use the restroom too?" I asked, raising my hand.
Meiko Sensei sighed, and then let me go too. So, I left in a hurry.
When I reached the end of the hall by the bathroom, there, I found Gumiya sitting against the wall, petting the white ferret.
"Megpoid-san? Daijoubu desu ka(are you alright)?" I asked standing above him.
"Huh!? Oh, it's just you Gumi-san. Hey, you're not going to tell on me right? I just can't leave him at home. He'll end up following me anyway." Gumiya said in a low voice as he continued to pet the ferret.
"Of course I won't tell on you. You're my friend. And I never abandon a friend." I said cheerfully as I sat right next to him.
"Friend?" Gumiya ask, dumbfounded. Like the word was completely foreign.
"Of course. Why? You don't want to be friends with me?" I asked, heartbroken.
"N-no! It's not like that. It's just... I haven't had any friends for so long." He said.
"douiukotonano(what do you mean)?" I asked, confused. Who wouldn't want to be friends with Gumiya? He's really a good guy.
"Ie, it's nothing. Huh?" Just then, the ferret squeezed out of Gumiya's grasp and started climb up my arm, onto my shoulder and started to nuzzle me.
"Hahaha, you tickle little guy. whoa, you're so soft too." I said as I started to pet him.
"No way." Gumiya said.
"Huh? Doushitano(what's wrong)?" I asked, confused.
"Shiro never gets that comfortable with people ever. Her always hides. Well, you really are something Gumi-san. It looks like he likes you just as much as I do." Gumiya said with a smile.
I blushed and smiled at him.
"Well, I really like you guys too, Gumiya-kun. Oh! Gomen. Can I call you by your first name?" I asked embarrassed.
"Sure.Call me what ever you want." Gumiya said with joy. I smiled. Happy that I was able to become friends with Gumiya.
Handing Shiro back to Gumiya, we started to head back to class before anyone realizes how long we were gone.
For the rest of these past three months, I hung out with Gumiya having fun with him as we spent countless hours talking. Until, I learned about the rumors. Even though people try to keep me away from him, I still want to be with him. No matter how bad those rumors are and how hard people try to keep me away from him. I will stay by my best friend's side.
