Prologue
Kailey's POV
Beep. Beep. Beep.
"Shut up..." I grumbled.
Why did alarms have to be so...
Annoying! Drives me mad.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
My hand slammed across the desk and found the alarm clock.
A slight yawn escaped my lips.
My eyes peeped open and landed on my cracked phone.
April 20th.
I'm moving today. Out of boring New York, to Holmes Chapel in Cheshire. Yay!
Note my sarcasm.
It all because of my step-dad. He just had to get a new job and just had bring my family along. A right Rich Flapjack he is. His name is Brandon Kingsley. He acts all lovely-dovey around my mum but when he is with me and Kristi (my younger sister) he is a devil in a suit. I just hate people like him. A right Rich Flapjack he is.
“Kailey! Are you dressed?” A high pitched female voice yelled.
“No.” I replied bluntly. What did she want me to say?
“Yes, mum, I’m dressed in a little pink gown with sparkly heels and wings like an angel.”
To say that I must be heavily drunk or high. Not going to happen.
“Well you need to get dressed!” Brandon yelled in tune with my mum followed by a giggle.
“Well you need to go find yourself another woman that is not half your age and marry HER! But we all don’t get what we want, do we?” I yelled back hopping out of my bed.
“It pays to watch the whole season of ‘Dysfunctional Family’.” I mumbled to myself.
“Kailey.” Kristi barges in through the door. “It’s called knocking.” I said falling into my bed.
“What do you want, half-Witt?” I asked gazing to the roof. “I just wanted to say that what you did was awesome.” She squealed.
“What did I do?” I asked raising my left eyebrow, sitting up straight. “You know, when you screamed at Brandon.” Kristi said smiling her lip glossed lips off.
“Well I’m glad you enjoyed the show. Now scram, I need to get dressed, mum needs to dump Brandon and you need to...”
I paused stroking my chin.
“And you need to put a different shade of lipgloss on. It doesn’t go with you complexion.” I added motioning for the door like and airhostess.
“Bye.” Kristi said walking out the room. I then hopped of my bed, once again and pulled out a pair of white shorts and a grey monster jumper.
Knock. Knock.
“It’s Brandon.” Brandon said in his posh English accent.
“Go away. I’m naked.” Even though I was only removing my pyjama bottoms but it’s really fun to lie to him.
“Okay, I’ll be back in 10.”
“Yay!” I answered back with way too much sarcasm.
I plopped on some underwear and then my jumper. I slipped on my spiked converse and looked in the mirror.
“Not too bad.” I commented, slamming the door open after tying my blonde hair into a messy bun.
“Wow, we really are moving.” I mention under my breath. The house was clean for once; washed windows, polished floors and an empty living room.
“Kailey, get in the van. We are about to leave!” Mum yelled from the front door.
“I’m coming mum!”
This is going to be a long ride...
