Misunderstood Mission

A mission that was misunderstood. Hawkeye spoilers kind of. No nat, just yelena and kate.

Y/N's point of view
You and Kate had just entered Kate's apartment. You stayed with her while Clint stayed at another friend's house. You dropped your bag on the floor while Kate dropped hers on the couch.

"Hey guys" A random voice says. You quickly turn around and grab the first you saw and throw it towards the noise, it was a salt shaker. Kate did the same thing, but with sriracha, but the person caught.

"Seriously, hot sauce" She says coming into the light. You recognized her, from the fight.

"You. You make me rip my favorite shirt" You said pointing at her furiously.

"Pointing is bad" Kate said slapping your hand down. You looked at her and held the place she hit your hand rubbing it a bit.

"Why- Why are you here?" Kate asked crossings her arms trying to seem intimidating.

"Well, that's a secret" She says going to your kitchen looking for forks.

"What you looking for?" You ask. Then you see her grab 1 fork. She glares at you while you look at Kate.

"Only 1 fork? Are you serious?" She says looking at you, you shrug. Kate nodded.

"I'm only 1 person" Kate says trying to defend herself. She sighs and grabs a spoon and a butter knife. She sits and points at the pot.

"Eat eat, my daddy says it's good for you" She says putting the utensils down. You both stared at her.

"What if it's posion?" Kate says and you point at her and nod.

"What she said" You say agreeing.

"If I wanted to kill you both I would've done it-"

"Would've done it right at the door" Kate cuts her off nodding.

"Yup" She nods.

"Wouldn't even have time to close the door" You say shaking your head.

"Why are you here? I know that it's a secret but, you were fighting Clint. The Hawkeye, an avenger. Why?" You ask her sitting down while Kate sat by you.

"I'm here to kill him" She simply says. You knew she was going to say that, you were just wondering why she was trying to kill him.

"Uhm- what, why?" Kate asked a bit more confused.

"He murdered my sister" She says leaning back and crossing her arms. You furrowed your eyebrows together.

"Murdered your sister?" You say chuckling thinking she was joking.

"Natasha Romanoff. He killed her" She said. You froze hearing her name. You finally knew who she was now.

"Yelena. Yelena Belova" You mumbled, she nodded. You look at Kate and see her staring at you.

"Wait, hold on- Clint killed Natasha Romanoff? No way, they were best friends" Kate said trying to figure out what she was talking about.

"They were until he killed her" She said. You shook your head.

"No, no. He didn't kill her. What are you talking about?" You asked her. This time it was her turn to look confused.

"Clint Barton killed my sister. She told me he killed her" She argues.

"Whoever told you that is lying" You argue back while Kate watches you both.

"How do you know if they are lying or not?" She asks you.

"Because I was there" You blurted out. You didn't mean to say what you said. But now they both knew that you were there.

"What do you mean?" Kate asks you, looking at you. You sighed.

"The night Nat died, I was there" You confess looking down.

"What happened?" Yelena asked.

"We needed to get the stones. Me, Clint, and Nat was sent to Vormir to get the soul stone. It was a soul for a soul. We fought like there was no tomorrow to sacrifice our own lives" You stopped talking for a second at the sudden memory.

"Then, what else?" She asked again.

"Nat hit me down and fought with Clint while I was still down. I saw them fighting and knew it was time for me to jump while they were occupied with each other. Didn't work obviously" You said sighing. The other two sat there looking at you.

"Clint grabbed be last minute and pulled me back jumping off himself, but Nat ran to him and connected her grappling hook wire to his suit and shot it up. I look down the cliff and saw Clint hanging by the wire holding Nat's hand. After what felt like a lifetime Nat jumped off the wall and fell. We really tried to jump, we really did" You say looking up at Yelena with tears falling down your eyes.

"Oh my god" Yelena says leaning back in her chair realizing she's been lied to whole time. Realizing she's been lied to about her sisters death.

"Wait, if you fought then why haven't we seen you fight with them. You know, the Avengers?" Kate asked.

"I wanted to be kept a secret" You said.

"Wait, she never said mentioned you being there" Yelena says talking about the girl who assigned her the mission to kill Clint.

"Because I was never supposed to go in the first place" You comply. You saw Yelena and Kate's confused faces.

"Wait what?" Yelena says completely confused.

"I was supposed to go to New York, 2012 to get the tesseract. I didn't want to hear Tony and Steve bickering so I asked if I could go with Nat and Clint. It was so last minute because Steve and Tony was already arguing and I hated it" You confessed everything you had bottled up that only the Avengers knew.

"I'm sorry for misunderstanding then" Yelena apologizes. She stayed the night, even though she almost killed you, you felt somewhat safe around her. She also felt safe around you two. You all laid by each other talking non-stop about anything you three could. Nat, missions, food, dogs, fashion. You name it, you all talked like you knew each other for your whole lives.
