Chapter Two:

I pulled up in front of Milton's and saw the guy standing outside. It had started raining on my way back. I grabbed the game from the front seat and made a mad dash to the shop.

"Hey," I said, giving him a smile, "I got the game."

"Thanks," he said, flicking the cigarette that he was smoking away.

I handed him the game. We stood there in a silence for a minute.

"Um, I guess I shouldn't keep you from work," I said, giving a nervous laugh.

"Yeah. I'll see you around," he said.

He turned to leave , pulling his collar up.

"Wait, are you walking?" I asked in disbelief.

"It's not too far," he replied.

I sighed and motioned to my car, "come on. I'll give you a ride."

"You don't have to do that."

"It's fine."

"I don't want to keep you from anything you're doing," he argued

I laughed and shook my head, "trust me, I don't have a life."

He chuckled, "alright."

He followed me to my car. We got in and I started the car, waiting a minute for the heat I start up.

"My name's Sophi," I said, turning to him.

"Daniel," he said.

I nodded. I pulled out of the parking lot. We drove in silence except for when Daniel told me directions. I pulled up in front of a simple two story house.

"Thanks. I hope I didn't make you go far out of your way," he said, getting out.

"Nope," I said, "I only live a street down from here. Not to be a creep or anything."

He chuckled and smiled at me.

"Thanks again. I'll see you."

He shut the door and headed into his house. I sat there and watched him for a moment before pulling away and heading home.

Snake's POV:

" I can't believe you managed to find the game," Cry said in disbelief.

I smiled to myself though he couldn't see over Skype. We were in the middle of the live stream.

"Yeah. I can't find that game even online," Scott added, "where'd you find it?"

"I went to Milton's and they didn't have it. But the girl working there had her own personal copy. She let me borrow it."

"Oooh. Snakey has an admirer," Russ teased, laughing.

"Well at least I have an excuse to see her again. I have to return it," I said with a grin.

"Snakey and mystery girl sittin in the tree," Cry sang off tune.

"What about me?" Scott said, "I thought you loved me."

"I think it might be best if we see other people," I answered as I put in Tiny Tank and got it ready to play.

"We gonna do this?" I asked.

A choruses of yes' flooded my headset.

Sophi's POV:

I opened the door of shop and flipped on the light. I walked over to the counter and logged into the computer. While it was logging on I went around turning on displays and opening blinds.

After about an hour of set up I flipped on the OPEN sign. I was looking through a Game Informer when I heard the bell ding above the door.

"Hi, welcome to- oh hey Daniel," I said, giving the familiar face a smile, "you're here early after working late."

He shrugged, "well I wanted to give you back your game before it got busy."

I chuckled, "you must not come here very often. I don't think I've have ever had more than ten people in here at one time the whole time I've worked here."

"How long have you worked here?" he asked, leaning on the counter with one hand.

"Well, let's see," I said, tapping my chin, "next month make three year."

"That's a long time. You must like it," he commented, looking around the shop as a couple teenagers walked in.

I nodded, "I really do. Video games are my favorite hobby and comics are my life. Especially Batman."

Daniel chuckled, "Some people say I sound like batman."

I giggled, "I could see that."

Daniel pulled the game out of his coat pocket.

"So, have you ever managed to beat the game?"

"Once or twice but I haven't played it in a while," I answered.

"Well as lame as it sounds, I'm stuck on the second part," he confessed.

I shook my head," not at all. I was stuck there for the a while my self. I ended up raging and shelving it for a couple years."

"I believe it. Anyways," he seemed to pause and I could see a slight blush on his cheeks, "I was wondering if maybe you would like to come over tonight and show me how to beat it?"

"Uh, y-yeah," I stuttered, shocked, "I get off at 7."

"Okay, well just swing by my house when you get off, or whenever tonight. you remember where my house is, right?"

I nodded.

"I'll see you tonight," he said, nodding at me and left the store.

I just stood there in shock.

"I think I just got a date," I said to myself.
