Chapter 1

Lizzie's P.O.V

It was a Saturday morning when I woke up and heard my mum and stupid stepdad screaming at each other. The neighbours always complained about the noise that's been going on in our house. Them two arguing had been going on for a few months now.

Let me tell you a bit about me, my names Lizzie and I am 16 years old, I've been living in the countryside my whole life and I never get fed up of nature. I'm the kind of girl who likes animals but doesn't like insects or mud, I don't think that makes sense but that's how I'm like. My most common nickname is Liz.

I've got a sister a stepdad and a mum, but I don't think our family's going to stay like that for long. My sisters name is Cecilia and she is 20 years old, we have a lot of fun together and she is good at impressions. Her most common nickname is CeCe, well that's what I call her anyway.

My stepdad's name is Michael and he's 40, he doesn't really bond with us and he's always out from early to late at night and my mum can't cope. He's been a close friend to my dad, and after my dad died mum had to marry Michael for the money. I really hate him to bits and he can never replace my dad.

My mum is the most sweetest woman I've ever met. She smells like roses and she's been raising me and CeCe all on her own. Whenever MichaelS out, mum have to tidy the whole house and put his cigarettes out and away. Of course we help mum but I don't think it's enough. She's got high blood pressure and she gets fed up easily. Sometimes she even gets scared of Michael.

"I want them out! They make the whole place messy, their a nightmare!" Michaels voice was shouting the whole house down,
"Shhh they might hear you. We can't kick them out their my children." Mums voice replied. Me and CeCe went downstairs to see what was actually going on. "Oh hey girls, me and mike were thinking that you guys are growing up and you have to be independent, so you guys can go live in the city in London." Me and CeCe were in awe did she just say that, she's never thought of leaving us on our own. That's when I knew it was Michael,
"But mum how will we cope without money and you?"
"It's fine I'll give you guys money and you, Cecilia, you could get a really good job in the city. Liz you could go to a better school." Me and CeCe ran upstairs and started packing, after that we went downstairs finding Michael sleeping on the couch surrounded by a pool of beer. We said our last goodbyes to mum because we knew we wouldn't see her for a while, she looked so upset and her eyes were so red, then we went off to the airport.

I was too upset to talk to anyone I couldn't even eat when CeCe offered to get us food. I didn't want to leave mum especially with Michael. I know she wouldn't survive I've seen him hit her so many times and she can't get away. I know she's tried because she tried running away with us but we keep getting caught which made him even angrier so we stopped.
