House Party

It was almost Friday again and Jackson was dreading what the weekend entailed. It was his senior year of college, and he should have been focused on graduating with good grades and finding a job for his future. However, when the sun set Friday night, his own house became a free for all until early Monday morning, whether he wanted it to or not.

Back when Jackson was a freshman, he had accidentally built up a reputation of being the kid that always had a house party going on. While it was something he would have dreamed of in high school, he never really understood how it got to this point. .

It was fun at first, it really was. His friends would all get together and play spin the bottle,  getting drunk out of their minds. Then slowly, all the sorority girls and frat boys started swinging by on their weekend house party crawls.

However, finally it got out of hand. It became something larger than a few house parties.

Word got out that Jackson's parties were the place to be and soon more and more people started to show up with drinks in hand and the determination to have fun. The parties grew longer and longer. At this point, more than half of the people who showed up were complete strangers.

The more nameless faces that entered his house, the more chaotic the parties got. Accidents happened and he had no one to blame.

Last weekend someone got drunk and tried to make spaghetti, staining his carpets red. Another property damage to add to the long list caused by endless partying.

However this was his last straw. By the time Monday morning came, Jackson decided that he would no longer open his doors. He was going to end the party.

He knew that the people would show up. The masses would be confused, angry even, but this was something he needed to do for his own sanity.

The party on Friday went as usual. A couple people threw up, and his bed was already violated by strangers. He stood in the corner watching his two best friends, Jinyoung and Jaebum, make out on his couch. Laughing bitterly at himself, he realized that even though everyone knew of him, nobody actually knew him, except those two idiots.

The thought of this being his last party had caused him to absentmindedly drink numerous red solo cups worth of beer and soju. The increase in alcohol must have been affecting him more than he thought because he suddenly got really sad. Spiraling thoughts about how he wasted his time in college started to take over his mind.

Someone walking by accidentally bumped into his shoulder and knocked him out of his thoughts.

"Oh. Sorry, man," the tall lanky boy mumbled as he continued on into the kitchen. Jackson swayed a bit in his spot before gripping the wall. His vision spun from the alcohol in his system, but he managed to get control of the queasy feeling creeping up in his stomach.

Turning around,  he looked towards the kitchen to single out the person who ran into him, eyes landing on a man leaning over the counter chatting away with his tall assailant. He had never seen the beautiful boy before and he wished that he had sooner.

He laughed as he spoke with a mix of English and Korean. A hoodie a few sizes too big for him clung off his shoulders making his frame look so much smaller than the tall, lanky boy he stood next to.

Jackson was intrigued. He was going to find a way to get to know the boy and the only way to do that was to continue the parties. Maybe the destruction to his house was worth it, if it meant that he would see him again.
