Veil of death

            The early morning fog hang low over Andromeda's head, her coat dragged behind her as she walked, the mark of an exorcist, her father had gotten her started when she was young and it stuck with her. She walked briskly towards the end of the street, and turned. There was her destination, a small house at the end of the street, just another house call, She was sure of that. suddenly she stopped dead in her tracks, a man was staring at her from the window of the house. She blinked and he was gone, okay she thought, this may not be so normal. She started to walk faster towards the house eager to start the investigation. When she reached the house she knocked quietly on the door. The door slammed open almost automatically, surprising Andromeda. A women appeared from the doorway with an excited look on her face. "are you Andromeda," she asked. "Yes, are you Michele?" I asked. She nodded and rushed me in. "Would you like something to drink," she asked " Maybe some tea?" I shook my head. "I want to talk to you about why you called me here." She stopped in her tracks and turned around. She walked and sat down, and put her head in her hands. Andromeda was surprised at her sudden mood change. She looked up at her, and said, "Just check, the bedroom. That's all you need to know." She then nodded and got up. " I will return shortly with the things I need, and some others. This 'thing' you talk about, is he a man in a black coat?" She looked at Andromeda with wide eyes, and nodded her head vigorously. With that Andromeda walked out of the house going to get ready for the investigation coming up.

            Night had fallen by the time Andromeda reached the house again with the things she needed and her team. They were all her best friends, Nick, and Edward. Two people who scream at the slightest brush of something, an unlikely group but they would follow her anywhere. The door opened and they were rushed in. Michele stood with them in the front looking nervous. "What's wrong?" asked Andromeda. "I need to leave, with my daughter, she's already out in the car we just need to leave."  Andromeda nodded and Michele walked out. "Well I guess we won't get introduced." joked Edward. Nick nodded. "Let's get started." Andromeda said. They got their equipment, and set up camera's around the house and set up monitors in the living room. "Alright, Edward you stay keep an eye on the cameras, while me and Nick check out the bedroom." They nodded and Edward went towards the monitors. Nick, and Andromeda went up the stairs. They entered the door and the smell of sulfur hit them They both grabbed their noses. "What is that?" nick cried. "I don't know but I don't like it." she said. They walked in and the smell ceased. They looked around and got out a device that looked like a box with a speaker. They switched it on and white noise filled the room.

"Is there anyone here?" Andromeda asked to no one.

'Yes' a reply sounded from the spirit box. The two looked at each other.

"Who are you" Asked Nick, There was no response. They asked more questions but no response every time. Then when they were about to give up a voice came from the speaker surprising the two. 'Take off your coat'. They looked at each other, and Andromeda reached for her Coat. She took it off revealing many tattoos scattered across her arms. They Walked down towards the basement, at the steps she told Nick to hold back.

"Why? What's wrong?" He asked "Nothing, just go up back to the bedroom and try and get something." She told him. He Walked back up exited that she would trust him alone. She continued down the stairs fiddling the cross necklace she owned. When she reached the bottom she felt the necklace rip from her neck and onto the floor. She was shocked, she reached down to grab it when she felt a burning on her back. She radioed Nick to get down to the basement. When he reached her he lifted up the back of her shirt and gasped, 3 long scratches where on her back, her skin turning red. She put the necklace in her pocket, and told Nick to get Holy water. he only nodded and left. he was already praying when he got back. Being an exorcist she knew all she needed to expel malevolent spirits. "Leave this place and leave this family alone." She said. The smell of sulfur returned. She saw a man in a black coat standing at the other side of the basement. " Leave now and never return. Let you be expelled from this place unable to return." While She was doing this Nick was spreading Holy Water across the house. She looked at the spirit now right in front of her. "Who are you." They spirit finally showed its face. he had a handsome face, but black eyes that unnerved Andromeda 'I am the Veil of Death, I protect the family from the evil that's here.' "What do you mean evil?" He looked over to her side, and when she looked she saw a shadow, just a single shadow. 'That is the evil I speak of.' She started the chanting and the shadow flickered, it was now the Veil of Death. "bind a millstone around your neck, so you may never rise from the depths of the Leviathan, not able to hear nor see. to never rise again!" The form of the shadow flickered and diapered. ' He is not gone but i will get rid of him you just leave before he attaches himself to you.' She only nodded. As she walked up the steps she didn't see him at the bottom. "Pack it up were done." She told the two sitting around. "Already?" Edward asked "Yes now let's go." She said. They packed up the gear and left a note on the door only saying, You're safe - Andromeda

            Andromeda received a letter the next day thanking her, "How about that." She muttered to herself. It was a picture of Michele and her late husband. Funny how he looked like the Veil of Death.
