Chapter 8 : By The Light Of The Moon

Stefan and Damon were talking at the tomb entrance and Daniel decided to watch because he had nothing better to do. "Care package: candles, lanterns, and... lunch." Damon said pulling out a bottle of blood. "Give that to me and I'm just gonna have to share it with them." Stefan said indicating towards Daniel who only smirked at his brother's. "Yeah." Damon agreed. "You two are surprisingly calm, considering Klaus will hunt you down and kill you if you mess with his little plan." Daniel said. "I've been dead before. I got over it." Damon retorted. "Once we deal with this moonstone, we'll figure a way to get you out." Damon told Stefan. "Don't worry about me. Just make sure Elena's safe." Stefan told him. Damon looked over at Daniel. "Make sure our brother doesn't kill her, will you?" Damon asked Daniel. "Of course." Daniel said watching Damon leave with the blood.

Later

"So we're fasting now? We're so pious. How long have you actually gone without blood? I know you get desiccation in theory, Stefan, but in reality, it's much worse. Your heart still beats, struggling to pump whatever blood remains. When it's gone, your veins rub together like sand paper. It's excruciating." Katherine said to Stefan. "The pleasure I'll get from watching you suffer is greater than any pain I'll ever feel." Stefan said to her and then looked over at Daniel. "Same applies to you to." Stefan said to his brother. "Really feeling the love, brother." Daniel said sarcastically.

"It's stuffy, and I've been in this dress for days. You want to help me get out of it Daniel?" Katherine asked Daniel who agreed immediately. He takes of her dress and puts us down. Now she's left in only her black bra and underwear. At this point, Stefan left to another part of the tomb. She kisses him. He kisses her back passionately. She takes off his shirt. He pushes her against the wall and kisses her neck and body. They go onto the bench and Daniel kisses her neck and body.

Later

"Are we seriously not going to talk at all?" Katherine asked. "We could talk about how you regret all you've done to make my life miserable." Stefan offered. "What do you want her to say, Stefan? That She's sorry for everything that She's  done? Well She's not, okay? It's called self-preservation. She's been looking out for herself for 500 years." Daniel told Stefan. "Look where it got her." Stefan said. "Yes, I've done terrible things. I know that, but I do love Daniel. Even if you don't believe it." Katherine said.

"You want me to believe you? Show me. Do something. Prove to me that there's something inside of you that's actually worth trusting." Stefan said to her. "And then what? You're still gonna hate us." Daniel said. "Maybe and maybe I'll see that there's still hope for you two after all." Stefan said. "You're playing us." Katherine said. "Am I?" Stefan asked. "You want to find Klaus? Kill him so that you can protect your precious Elena?" Daniel asked him. "Let me guess: you two know where he is." Stefan said. "No, I don't, but We could help you find him." Katherine offered. "For a price I'm sure." Stefan guessed. "Start with Isobel. Elena's mother. She was a research expert. She found us." Daniel said looking at his brother. "Your welcome." Daniel said.

They heard the door opening and they all walked up to the entrance to see Elijah. "Elijah." Katherine and Daniel said simultaneously. "Good evening Katerina, Daniel. Thank you for having the good sense to be frightened." He said to the couple. He looked at Stefan. "Your release has been requested." Elijah told him. "What? By who?" Stefan demanded. "The lovely Elena drives a hard bargain. However, we reached a peaceful agreement, she and I. Please." He said gesturing for Stefan to walk out. "Come." He simply said. "I can't." Stefan told him. "Yes, you can. I've had the spell lifted." He explained.

Stefan leaves and Katherine and Daniel try to leave but Elijah blocks them. "As for you Katerina, you should not exit until I say so. When Klaus comes, he'll want to know exactly where you are." He said to Katherine. "You're free to go. Elena will explain the arrangement to you. If she keeps her word, I'll keep mine." He said before turning to Daniel. "And as for you." He said and then plunged his hand into Daniel's chest and grabbed his heart. Katherine screamed for him to stop whereas Stefan just watched silently. "Give me one reason as to why I shouldn't kill you right now." Elijah demanded. "I know what you want and where it is." Daniel told him. Elijah looks stunned. "How do you know that?" He asked. "Because I helped klaus hide it." Daniel told him. "If you kill me, I won't be able to persuade klaus to give it back." He told Elijah.

"Very well. If I keep you alive when klaus comes, you must persuade him to give it to me." Elijah offered. "Deal." Daniel said shaking his hand. Elijah left and Daniel fell to the floor from exhaustion. "Are you okay?" Katherine asked him. "Yeah I'm fine. Just tired." He said. "Stefan, no. Please don't let him leave me in here." Katherine pleaded to Stefan. He just left. "Katherine, Elijah didn't compel me to stay. I can leave." Daniel told Katherine. "I promise you, I will it leave mystic falls without you and I will find a way to get you out. Got it?" He said to Katherine who nodded, silently crying. "I love you. Don't forget that." He said to her. "I love you too." She said to him before he left the tomb.
