{If you battle monsters, you don't always become a monster. But you aren't entirely human anymore, either}And finally here we are...
"This is what pretty much happened. Do you understand now?" I asked Amelia, Rachel's daughter who was 25 years old that year."Yes...yes I understand. My god...I can't believe this. It's the worst tragedy I have ever heard, Ahmed."
Yeah...in case y'all hadn't realise by now. I'm Ahmed. Sylvie's son. I was the one who was telling you the story all this time.
I was only 17 years old when my mother died. After I graduated school I joined the police and in less than six years I became an FBI agent. I dedicated my life into searching about what happened between my mom and Rachel Collins. When I was 26 a young journalist approached me.
"Are you Ahmed Maradona, right? I'm Amelia Collins."
She wanted to know everything and I told her. But only a night or a few days weren't enough. She burst into tears countless times and we had to pause. We spent days and months telling and repeating and explaining. Unfortunately, Amelia had no idea about this entire story. The only thing she knew was that both her parents were killed.
"I can't believe William did something like this. He tricked everyone!"
A year after we first met had passed when we finally were ready to close this chapter. But there was one more thing she had to know.
"Amelia..." I said and looked deeply into her eyes. "William isn't the one who tricked everyone. He was a tool as well." Her eyebrows frowned and she slightly paired her lips, but before she got to answer I continued. "There is someone else who planned the entire situation.""Who?" She asked me while getting up from her chair.
Her blue eyes were locked on me. She was hanging on my lips. The truth was that, really, William wasn't the mastermind in this story. There was someone else. A backstabber. Someone who fooled everyone. Even me. Because I trusted her blindly and I thought she would never hurt anyone. It took me a lot of time to see it.I looked out of the window. I didn't want to say it out loud. I still couldn't believe it. The city looked busy, as always.
What if we could then back time? If I went back and warned her...would she still be alive?
I couldn't say it. It wasn't coming out of my mouth. Come on! Say it! Why are you scared? She did it! She did all of this! She mastered everything! She trapped them. It was her! You know it! The one behind all this tragedy was...
"Crista."
The miserable truth was finally revealed. Amelia's expression changed to a shocked one. She sat back on her chair trying to process everything. "Crista? Sylvie's best friend? How?"I was shocked when I found out too. I didn't want to believe at first. "Amelia, this is the last thing I have to explain to you. You see..."
Crista never actually cared about Sylvie. They were hanging around at high school but once Sylvie was sent in Afghanistan they lost contact. For many years, they didn't say a word to each other. Some day, Crista saw on TV that the general Maradona was in New York. She heard about all of Sylvie's achievements in USA and the money she had. She was always interested in money. She decided to approach Sylvie. She was her only friend and was always trying to keep her lonely.
After a lot of thinking she came out with a plan. Since she was the only person Sylvie trusted blindly, if something happened to her she would take over the company. She convinced her into signing a contract but Sylvie was smart enough to know that Crista wouldn't make it her own in the company. "I trust you but you have no idea how an assassination team works." It was the truth. So Sylvie signed the 50% to be give to William Collins. Her next step was easy. She manipulated William into trusting her and helping her with her plan. Crista revealed through William information about the "Monster" and sent Rachel directly on Sylvie. She had plan everything. The court, the fire...everything. However she managed to play the victim pretty realistic. No one suspected her. And Sylvie didn't thinks he was a traitor. But why did she need Sykcie to still consider her a friend?
She knew that Sylvie wouldn't kill herself so easy before taking revenge for everything. She knew she just had ran away and was waiting for her return. She was waiting patiently. She knew one day her best friend would come back. What she didn't expect was Bella. Someone who gained Sylvie's trust and love. In order for Crista to get rid from both Rachel and Sylvie she had to get rid of the rest. Luck was genuinely with her. She sent William to poison Ahmed. After that what they want had officially started. And y'all know the rest. This is how we got here after all.
