A CHRISTMAS SURPRISE

CHAPTER 1

8 HOURS AGO

*BEEP BEEP BEEP* was all  kept hearing. My eyes felt heavy I wanted to sleep some more but the beeping noise was getting louder "Alaina wake up your alarm clock has been ringing for the past 15 minutes" my eyes shot open and I looked at my alarm clock it was 7:15am and school starts by 8:00am " mon dieu je suis retarde" I got up ran into the bathroom, got dressed and ran downstairs. "Ta petit dejuner est sur la table" I ran, picked up my bag , stuffed my breakfast into my mouth as fast as I could and and ran so I wouldn't miss the bus "Au revoir maman je t'aime" I ran out the house not giving my mom time to respond. I arrived at the bus stop and looked at my watched and noticed the time was 7:40am which was good the ride to the school would b for at most 15 minutes if there's traffic "Miss aren't you getting in ?" the bus driver called my attention to his presence "oh right thanks" I walked into the bus and saw Sara at least I wasn't going to be alone. I walked over to her seat "Hey Sara how are you?" "I'm good let me guess, you overslept" she looked at my with a sly smile. I laughed and nodded "You're really predictable sometimes you know?" "How so?" I looked at her confused" I don't but I really didn't plan on taking the bus today and as usual I started to walk but as the bus got to my stop I decided to board it thinking I might see you and here we are" I looked at her with a blank expression then smiled "Maybe God wans you to do something in my life today" Sara laughed "sure thing I'd like to know what that would be." The buss arrived at the school and I looked at my watch, it was 7:50 am I still had enough time to get to class before it begins "Sara we'll see later I have biology and you know how much he hates tardiness" "Ok bye see you during lunch"  I waved goodbye and ran off to class I'd rather not be late.

4 HOUR AGO

I walked into the cafeteria it was finally time for lunch man I was starving next time I'd wake up early "Oi Alaina over here" there was only one person I knew who was capable of yelling my name across the whole cafeteria and that was Maxwell. I looked over and saw him sitting with Troy, and Sara. I picked my food and walked over to the table " Could you not yell my name across the cafeteria next time" "Hey it's not my fault you walked into the place all confused" 

"I wasn't confused"

"yes you were" I looked at Sara who looked at Troy "Alright you two knock it off" Max looked like he was about to argue but he shut up instead." Now that both of you are done arguing I wanted to propose what we should do for Christmas this year apart from our usual charity drives" I looked at her with an eyebrow raised "and what would that be?" "Secret Santa" Troy looked at Sara confused "wasn't that the game we used to play as kids? " 

"Yes but this time we are going to serve as Santa for the neighborhood" 

"And how do we do that?" Troy asked I was also curious because I definitely didn't understand where this was going

"That's where Max comes in this proposal"

"What are you talking about?" Max looked at Sara with a look that clearly said 'I don't like where this is heading'. Sara looked at Max with pleading eyes filled with hope

"Max I know you don't like this but could you ask your dad to donate toys for kids and explain why?" Max looked at Sara with a blunt expression one that could shatter the hope in her eyes then responded "Sara you know that I don't like talking to my dad about anything relating to his company" "I know but-" "But I'll do it regardless " Max's response caught all of us off guard I expected him to be stubborn about it knowing it regarded his dad but I was glad all the same

"What about others like teenagers and adults?" I asked

"We'll donate the money ourselves and whatever we've gathered, we'll use it" Sara replied

"You really seem confident about this Sara" Troy spoke after a while of silence "But I'm on board with your plan"

"So am I" Maxwell said and I nodded in agreement.

"Great so were we'll start after school" and as if on cue the bell rang indicating lunch was over "So Operation Secret Santa is a go?" 

"As long as it's better than Santa's Elves" I replied. Troy snickered and Max's face went bright red "we were kids okay?" Then we all burst into a fit of laughter "But yeah it's a go see you guys after school"

"Let's walk home after school today" I suggested "Sure" Sara replied with the others nodding in agreement .

PRESENT TIME
My eyes fluttered open and I noticed my surroundings were different "Where am I?" my voice sounded hoarse and my throat felt raspy "You're awake thank GOD" my mom ran to me and hugged me tight "Mom what's going on where am I? "  

"You're in the hospital right now your friends came to the house with worried looks on their faces and said you were passing out. Do you remember anything?" I looked at my mom for a while then the memories of this afternoon rushed into my head. "How long have I been here?"

 "3 hours sweetie" I looked at my mom with disbelief "you're kidding right?" it was the I looked outside and noticed that the sun began to set. "Your friends left a while ago they were really worried but when next they come I'll inform them that you're ok" I nodded silently in response.

"Glad to see you're awake " I looked over and saw the doctor by the door "Ma'am I'd to speak with you in my office if you don't mind" my mom nodded and left with the doctor which gave me time to think about what happened today I was perfectly fine this afternoon while walking out of school but what happened to me?
