Chapter 10 - Spongebob Blankets and Rivalries

(Julia's POV)

I grab my skis and Jeffrey's hand leading him out onto the deck.

"Julz..." He starts, I interrupt him by pressing my lips against his. He's caught off guard but reacts almost instantly, running his hands through my hair.

"Julia.." He mutters.

"Jeffrey..." I reply softly.

"I have to pee." He whispers.

"I hate you." I admit, punching his shoulder.

"Ruining the moment since 2000." He insists, I chuckle at his comment and let go of his jacket.
He laughs and turns on his heel to go inside. I catch a glance of Anika looking at me in the corner of my eye. Does she like him or something?

(Anika's POV)

No. She must be exterminated. Nothing gets in the way of my otp.

(Skylar's POV)

I lay on one of the lounge chairs, cuddling with Jeffrey's spongebob blanket for warmth. Why do I even still have this? I stand up and walk over to Julia, with the spongebob blanket folded in my arms.

"can I help you?" She asks.

"may*" I correct.

"excuse me?" She replies offended.

"the grammatically correct form is 'may I help you.' bec-" I cut off my sentence as soon as she gives me an annoyed look, "Sorry... here's Jeff's blanket..." I tell her, she looks down at it and back to me.

"Keep it. It probably needs to be washed now tha-" She starts.

"Julz... Here Skylar, I'll take it." Jeff insists, cutting Julia off.

"Thank you." I tell him, walking off to get my stuff.

"No problem." He calls after me. I grab my clothes that were in the sauna, drying off, and pull them on over my spandex and tank top. I walk out back into the common area finding Anika.

(Anika's POV)

"So what'd you and Julia talk about? What did you and Jeff talk about? what did you, Julia, and Jeff talk about?!" I ask quickly.

"umm nothing, just returning the blanket." she replies, damn. can't they just make out already? and if not, can I just make out with him already? like for real.

"So... let's go skiing." I insist, trying to break the awkward silence.

"Okay." She replies, heading over to Katie to grab her stuff. If I want this OTP to happen, I'm going to have to try harder...

(Katie's POV)

We head over to the ski lifts, and wait in the massive line ahead of us.

"So what's up with you and Jeff?" I ask Sky.

"nothing's 'up' between me and Jeff." She responds.

"okay, Sky. okay." I tell her unconvinced, nodding my head.

"shut up. c'mon we're next." She mutters. Skylar, Anika, and I all climb onto the lift and watch the buildings disappear into the distance. We remain silent, taking in all the beauty of it. That is until that is interrupted by Jeffrey screaming in the lift in front of us.

"Jeff you're such a dork." We hear Julia state.

"What's going on up there?" Anika yells to her.

"Jeffrey Miller being the genius he is... licked the frozen pole." She screams back, while laughing. I hear Skylar giggle to herself as she looks out at the buildings.

"phis s fainful" We hear Jeff attempt to say.

"Jeffrey stop being a baby." I remark, he laughs but groans with pain and annoyance. When we finally reach the top, the operator gives Jeffrey a death stare as he stops the lift to help him. He poors a cup of hot water over the pole as Jeff screams of his tongue burning. All four of us laugh at him as he finally gets his tongue unstuck.

"finally.. that sucked." he admits, grabbing his skis and waiting for Julia.

(Anika's POV)

We exit out of the ski lift and grab our skis and get ready to go. Jeff is getting ready to go when Sky speeds ahead of him, laughing back at us. She pulls aside by a nearby tree waiting for us, with her back turned, admiring the view. THIS IS MY CHANCE. I creep up behind Jeffrey and give him a little shove to make him "accidentally" bump into Skylar. As soon as Jeff realizes whats happening he starts to yell, he zooms down the slope, missing Sky by an inch, who turned to see the cause of the racket. I had perfect aim damn Sky, you're so lucky to have a friend like me. Julia follows Jeff, desperately trying to stop him but she's too late... Jeff turns to almost touch Julz's fingers as he hits a tree dead on, making him completely wipe out... oops...
