Chapter 13

"Eva!" Ms. Rosie called out approaching Eva with a wide smile plastered on her face.

"Yes, Ms. Rosie" Eva responded letting out a warm smile. 

"Are you free this Friday night?"

"Yeah! I guess. Why? Mind to tell me the reason for the extra smile you have on your face?" Eva replied amusedly.

"To be honest I-" Ms. Rosie started but it was like she was at a loss of words cause she was busy trying to stop her smile.

"You?" Eva asked in curiosity.

Taking a deep breath, the smiling woman finally said, "I am getting engaged this Friday night"

"What? You didn't tell me before and I- Oh! God! What should I say? I am so happy for you!! Oh!! Congrats! Ms. Rosie." Eva exclaimed pulling her into a crushing warm hug making the woman chuckle at her actions.

"It was planned this morning, dear. And you are the first person to know about this."

"I am glad and it has to be me though!!" Eva replied smiling sheepishly making the elder nod in approval.

"Be at my home early, dear. I'll be waiting for you" 

"Sure, Ms. Rosie. I can't wait to call you Mrs. Rosie" Eva stated and both the woman kept giggling speaking random things.

Eva was waiting at the bus stop waiting for the bus to arrive but instead of a bus, there came a familiar black SUV and it stopped in front of Eva.

"Rabbit, get inside," Riaz said peeking through the window of the driver seat.

"Thanks, but it's okay. I can go by bus" Eva stated softly rejecting the offer.

"As you wish but you won't be able to reach home today babe" the cocky guy stated with an evil smile.

'Did he just call me babe?' Eva thought in disbelief and she was sure that her face had become reddened by now. "A-And w-why would I?" she asked trying to hide the fact that she was flustered with just a mere word. She had come across several people who had called her 'babe' like Jo, her friend Jasmine and lots of colleagues. But their words never seemed to affect her in the way as Riaz.

"On my way, I came across the bus and it seemed like there was an accident and that's why I came to check up on you"

"Accident?" Eva asked in a little bit high-pitched voice with widened eyes.

"It was rather small. Don't worry" he replied hopefully making her feel at ease. And he knew he won when he saw Eva nodding before letting out a sigh in relief.

"Rabbit, this is the last time I am asking. Are you coming or not?"

Eva's mind battled trying to figure out the best decision. Her apartment is quite far and the next bus would take about an hour to arrive. She knew she trusted Riaz cause she felt safe and secured whenever he was with her. He made her heart flutter every time their eyes met. Ignoring further thoughts, she stood up and hopped in his car which was already wide open by the other. Unless the other times where he would clip her seat belts on, this time she clipped it herself and when she did it, she couldn't help but let out a proud smile making Riaz chuckle.

The ride was calm as usual and it made Eva feel bored. "Can I ask something?" she asked out of the blue looking at Riaz who had his eyes fixed to the road. Though he pretended that he was busy driving, his inner soul knew that he was surprisingly busy noticing Eva and her actions from his peripheral view. He was immature to feel that she had an unexplainable effect on him.
