Teagan

"What do you mean you want me to get rid of my bracelet?" I exclaim, cradling my bracelet to my chest.

"For all we know they could have put another tracking device in one of the charms. Even though you're disagreeing now, we both know what your mother and her team of misfits are capable of." Jordan empathizes, holding out his hand to collect my own's contents.

I bite my lower lip and hold out my closed fist, dropping the bracelet into his open palm. The only piece of my father that I had was about to be taken away just like everything else.

"Hey, I'm just going to let the guys examine it for a while until we're sure it's free of any cameras or bugs." He drops the piece of jewelry into a Ziploc baggie and pushes away from the table. I had no idea how professional and serious gangs could be; I used to think they only roamed the alleyways at night to deal drugs and graffiti walls.

It's a bit late to just be realizing this, I think.

"Also," he starts, "We're gonna need all the help we can get if we want to win this fight so I've arranged for you, James, and I to go to downtown Denver to ally with some of the gangs there; specifically the North Side Mafia."

I don't know how to respond other than blankly staring at his towering figure in the doorway. Noticing this, Jordan shoots me a quick wink and grin. "I figured you were tired of sitting in the house all day. Don't worry, downtown is way out of the AK's territory; they wouldn't dare go there." Just when I think he's disappeared around the corner, his head pops back into the kitchen. "Also, we didn't tell Aleks about this little excursion and I'd like to keep it that way. Y'know, to save both his and our sanity."

I can't help myself and begin giggling at how cautious he sounded; he really did not want Aleks to flip out at me disappearing

"Hoardan, you can't blame the guy for being so protective. His parents both passed away and he most likely doesn't want Teagan leaving him as well." James butts into the conversation as he's exiting the pantry.

Jordan's focus wasn't on James' words, but on the whole and unpeeled banana in his hand.

"Oh, this thing? Figured I could eat it in the car on the way. Or if we get into a sticky situation I could use it to claw someone's eyes out." Then, as if deciding the latter was the best choice, his eyes lit up and he backed into the pantry. "Actually I'm gonna bring two just in case," he clarifies from deep within the pantry.

Jordan and I watch this with very different facial expressions; me with furrowed eyebrows and a confused frown and Jordan with a slightly open mouth and a look of understanding, like he was entirely on board with James' banana homicide plan.

"Be ready in ten. I'm gonna go give this to Seamus and Dan to look at." Jordan says, shaking the small bag containing my charm bracelet.

I slowly nod, my attention mainly focused on the clanging and clashing coming from James' current location.

"Do you want a banana too?" He calls, the noises coming to an abrupt stop.

I cup my hands around my mouth so I can be heard from the seemingly endless pantry, "I personally prefer throwing pineapples."

"Gotcha," he replies, the sounds making a reappearance.

I've spent way too much time in this house, because stuff like this doesn't even phase me anymore.

this part reminded me so much of TL's early chapters because it was very shittily written as most of the S&S chapters have been (which is why I actually detest writing in Teagan's POV now) , but im giving myself an E for effort anyways #getrekt

Putting a gif of Emily as the media for a change instead of Aleks must count for something, right? no? okay...
