PROLOGUE

"Don't close your eyes" Dad told me.

I could still hear the gunshot echoing inside my head while staring down on the floor where Cloud was lying, covered with his blood. My hands were trembling as the gun still pointed at her.

Dane was in the corner with arms crossed on his chest, his emotionless eyes didn't leave mine.

With no traces of fear, I looked at him. Dad applaud "I told you so" He laughed evilly "Good job"

He walked towards the door of the basement and communicated through eyes at Dane, however, his precious son just stood still.

"Dane" Dad called. It was calm, but the meaning was opposite, calmness of his voice means you're in danger.

"Go" I told him.

However, with his monotone look he began to take a step forward towards me which made my entire system messed up. Has he gone mad?!

Not now for heaven's sake! I ran as fast as I could, when I reached outside, a very familiar place welcomed me. I saw how Rani's white fur covered with her blood, Haz started barking at me while she was struggling to move Rani away from me. No, please...

"Elliana! Open the door!" I accidentally dropped the gun when I heard Dad's voice. When i turned around I was already in my room, he kept smashing the door and I knew in any seconds it would open.

And it did. Dad was furious, again, but why? My hands kept shaking badly, I did great this time, I swear to God.

He was about to hit me with his belt when I suddenly woke up, gasping for air. Hell, I couldn't breathe properly... I slowly sat up, tweaking my hair, for I am so damn frustrated.

My dreams will gonna be the death of me.

"Señora! Señora! Estás bien?" Her knocks are enough to break the door, kidding, but seriously? What kind of hands does she have? Lia, my nanny's daughter who work for me despite how risky her job is.

"Estoy bien!" I answered.

She kept knocking "Abra la puerta ahora Señora por favor!"

I rolled my eyes as if she can she it, duh? I'm fucking fine! But she won't believe it, not until she sees me. I lazily stood up and headed for the door to open it.

"See? I'm damn fine" She still looked worried and was about to release a rain "No voy a morir todavía, así que guarda tus lágrimas" I tapped her shoulder "Vete a dormir Lia"

I closed the door and went straight to the balcony, his men are still up, it's freaking 2 am, and they are wide awake.

"Where on earth is he?" I mumbled.

Speaking of the devil, my phone rang, I picked it up under my pillow and answered his call "What happened to the 2 days Alfie?" I welcomed.

He laughed "These rats aren't easy to catch, since they change their location now and then, we can't track their new base as of the moment" He explained.

"You mean... You can't go home yet?"

He went silent for minutes "Yeah, but i'll try my hardest to go home tomorrow 'kay?"

"Copy, keep safe please" I said, sincerely.

"Always am, go back to sleep, stop worrying about things. I'll call you again"
