Yoongi met your eyes and you felt your heart drop into your stomach. You swallowed hard and staggered, legs weak. Jungkook's arms shot out and caught you around the waist, steadying you as you regained your balance. You head was swimming, thoughts muddled. How was this even possible?

You shook your head, clasping your hand over your mouth. I think I'm going to puke. You staggered out of the room. They could finish this stupid interrogation themselves. You needed to think. Process what the hell you had just heard. You left the room, Yoongi's cold eyes watching you go.

You'd been outside for the better part of an hour, lost in your thoughts. You sat on the base of an ornate gazebo, looking up at the night sky. Out here away from the bright lights of the Three Cities, the stars were so bright. You were still having trouble wrapping your head around what the captive said: his niece. That meant that your brother was his nephew, and he'd killed him anyway. What the fuck?

A soft sound snapped your gaze over to the path towards the manor, but the tension that filled you dissipated when you saw Hobi. You offered him a small smile, grateful that it wasn't Suga or Jungkook.

"Hey

"Hey." JHope planted his fists on his hips, tilting his head to the side and smiling down at you softly. "You look you sad, even I had to sigh. What's going on, Treasure?"

"Oh," you said. "I just...found out something I wish I didn't know. It messed up everything, Hope. So now I'm just trying to find solid ground, I guess?"

"Ah, I see," Hobi let out a soft little breath and flopped down beside you, drawing his knees up to his chest and resting his chin on top of them. "I'm sorry to hear that. But, if you can't find your footing, don't you think that you should lean on someone? I know that we don't know each other very well yet, but that's what families are for -- even a mob Family." He gave you a small, rueful little smile.

"But do you have anyone else you can talk to? You know, I mean outside of us criminally indulgent folk?" His words brought a small, much-needed smile to your lips.

"Mm. No one I can trust with this. My parents are out of the country, Jay's dead. And my only other friend is a journalist who would likely care more about the story than helping me solve my current predicament." You shrugged, and JHope bumped his shoulder against yours.

"So, I guess I'll work it out on my own. I'm just worried that because of what they heard, Suga and Kookie won't trust me anymore. Not that there was much to begin with, but we had just started getting somewhere. Kind of depressing, you know?"

"Augh!" Hoseok grabbed his head, shaking it violently. "Silly girl! Just talk to them! You should've realized -- even over the last few days -- that Boss has a warm, gooey center under all of those sharp edges." Hobi reached out and grasped your hand, squeezing it gently and smiling over at you brightly.
