Tzuyu's POV

"Hey!" I yelled as I suddenly appeared in front of the elderly gentleman dressed in a suit.

He was startled and looked at me in horror.

Tss. Do I resemble a spooky ghost?

"Y-y-you can see me?" the old man asked, clutching my arms tightly.

"Yes," I said with a nod.

After I responded, he gave me a big smile.

"Does that mean I'm not d-dead?" he wondered. "But why can't other people see me?" he asked, looking around. "Those people passing by in our direction definitely can't see me,"

Oh.

I can see why he's pleased that I told him I can see him while the others can't.

He is still unaware.

"Yes, Mr. Kwang Han Yoon, I can clearly see you," I said, smiling.

He backed away from me, surprised that I knew his name.

"How did you know my name?" he asked, pointing at me. "Who are you?!" he exclaimed.

"I'm an angel," I replied. "Isn't that obvious?"

The old man stared at me for a few seconds before realizing I was glowing as if there was a spotlight on me.

Well, I'm used to it, people don't believe I'm an angel because I don't have wings, which is how they imagine angels look.

"This can't be true, how can I see an angel?" he wondered, trying to make sense of the situation.

"Uhm... because you're dead? That's why you're seeing me," I explained, trying not to scare him, but he still looks terrified.

He shook his head angrily. "That's not true. I can't be dead! My family needs me," he said, breaking down in tears.

The sound of the ambulance echoed across the highway, carrying the old man who lay lifeless on the road.

The old man with me saw it from afar, and he saw himself lifeless being carried by the rescuer, who was attempting to bring him back to life, but it was too late. He's no longer alive.

"You were involved in a hit-and-run accident, Mr. Kwang," I sighed as I approached him and lightly patted him on the shoulder. "You did well in your lifetime, but it's time for you to go."

The term 'Death' refers to the end of a person's life.

Most people are afraid of death because they are unsure whether they will go to heaven or to a place where their soul will suffer. However, some people do not care whether they live or die. They just really dont care.

Humans' perspectives on life differ in a variety of ways.

I guess I understand them.

Life is unpredictable, you never know if you'll die today or tomorrow or even this time.

No matter how careful you are, death is always there, no one can prevent the end fate of your life.

Its sounds cruel and sad but its the reality.

Im thankful, I'm not a human.

I will not feel the bitter sweet taste of life.

"Finally done"  I exclaimed.

I sat on the bench, staring at the book that contained the names that I had retrieved today to be sent into the afterlife.

When I closed the book, it vanished from my grasp. I sat up straight and looked around, watching the people live their lives to the fullest.

I smiled broadly because I was pleased to see everyone around me. They are all happy and it also makes me feel happy.

People should always enjoy their life while they are still alive.

Our role as angels is to send people with pure souls to the afterlife, but it is not our responsibility to care for those with dark souls. Grim Reaper will be the one who will work on it.

While looking around, I saw a child eating ice cream from afar, I became envious. I decided to get some ice cream, but first I had to transform into a human. However, it is one of our abilities as angels.

Amazing right?

I was about to snap my finger when someone called my name. When I turned around, there I saw my angel friend.

I got to my feet and approached her. "What exactly is it, Jihyo?"

Jihyo snaps her finger, and the book I was holding earlier reappears in front of me.

"I'm done now, and I double-checked it," I said, but Jihyo shook her head in disapproval.

"Not yet, Tzuyu. A name has suddenly appeared on your book, and you need to fetch her right away. Stop acting lazy," Jihyo said, scolding me.

I exhaled a sigh. I'm craving ice cream right now.

What should I do?

To be able to eat ice cream, I need to do something to get Jihyo to approve my request to delegate my duties to another angel.

I began to act cute in front of her. "Can Chaeyoung do it in my place?"

"Tzuyu, this is your book, and you know the rules as well."

Rules.

That's it!

I let out a defeated sigh and grabbed my book, which was floating in the thin air.

One of the rules is that, if a name appears on a book that you own, you must do it yourself to fetch them because you are responsible for the soul that has been assigned to you.

"Fine, I'll do it," I said, turning around and sulking.

After all, I don't have a choice.

I heard Jihyo chuckle before returning to her assigned task above.

I opened the book and turned to the blank page to see who I needed to send into the afterlife next.

I waited a few moments for the person's information to appear one by one on the blank page. I carefully examined it, and a photograph appeared.

"She's pretty and young, too bad she'll die today. How cruel," I thought as I stared at the photo.

Life is unpredictably unpredictable.

The person's information was finally completed until the person's name appeared last.
