Candy's POV
As I reach the biology class my sister is already standing there and waiting for me. She looks really happy, mutch more happy than she use to. Just as I am going to ask her why I see the teacher appear in the doorway. London is the first one to go to class. She takes the sit that is closest to our teacher. And as usual, I go after and take my place next to her.
After the lesson is over I try to talk to London again, but she does not seem to listen. We walk in silence to our next classroom. I notice that many people are looking at us. I wonder why?
Then I remember. They are looking becose I, an Erudite girl, are wearing only black. Oh no, my clothing was a great mistake after all.
I see my sister smiling to me. She whispers "Follow me". I do as she say, and we end up in girls toilet. "Let's change shirts" London says. "Then you are wearing blue. And I have my jacket over the shirt. No one will see me wearing black." I smiles to her and quietly thanks her. Since when have my twin be kind to me? Oh, maybe she has noticed that I am thinking about changeing to another faction. Maybe she thinks that being kind can make me change my mind.
When we have finished our lesson in psychology we can finally go to dinner. I go and grab myself some salad and start walking to a table next to the windows.
After we sit down we get company by our good friends Rose and Lauren. They are Erudite like us. We start discussing our grades.
I guess I forgot to say that at 1pm today we get our last grades. I know my are worse than ever. And I don't even care. I mean that in a few days I will leave Erudite behind, and I can't belive that Dauntless would care about stuffs like maths grades.
I am so catched in my thoughts that I get really surprised when Rose shakes my shoulders and say "Come on! The grades will be up in five minutes!" I stand up and together we walk to our home class.
As we arrive everyone else is already there and the only sits left are in the back of the class. Everyone here is Erudite. And we are all taking our Aptitude tests tomorrow.
After we sat down the teacher closes the door and starts her speach. "This are your last results. If you will choose Erudite you will get starting points depend on this numbers." I nearly fall asleep when she's talking. Gosh how boring! But suddenly I feel a hand on my face. London! "You might want to look at your plate" she whispers. I take my plate and sign up..
I can see names with numbers next to them. I search the list until I find my name. Candy Steiner, 9.31. 9.31!!! I can't belive what I got. I wonder... I start search the list again so that I could find my sisters result too. But then a voice interrupt me.
"How did it go, Candy" Rose asks. "Fine. I got 9.31. You?" "I got 8.54." She says with a sadly look on her face. And I understand why. It's extremly uncommon for an Erudite to get a score lower than nine. I feel really sad about Rose becose she's my best friend - after London of course.
When I get back to my list I see that Lauren got 9.75 and London got... she got 10!! I knew she would do it. My sister is a true Erudite. I know she will choose Erudite. She will be the first Steiner child to not betray the family.
Rest of the school day float by. The bell rings last time ever for me. I'm acting like my mind isn't really there. I can't help but think about the Aptitude test we have to take tomorrow.
"Can we walk together home?" I hear a voice asking next to me. When I turn around I expect to see London, but surpriseingly I am staring right into Rose's eyes. "Of course" I say wondering where London is. "London and Lauren did already go" Oh, I guess I said my thoughts at loud then.
I start walking back home while talking to Rose. She wants to talk about Aptitude tests and Choosing ceremony. I'm relieved that I'm not the only one worrying.
"I dont know what to choose" Rose admits to me. "I thought about choosing Erudite, but my last result was so low that I'll never get pass initation. And I know nothing about the other factions" Well, she are obviously right. Even if she wouldn't become Factionless she would probably end up cleaning labs or something.
Factionless... Avery told me that only top ten Dauntless Initiates became Dauntless members. If you don't made it to top ten, you must leave Dauntless and live with the Factionless. I am a bit scared but I push away that thought. I will made it. I will become Dauntless.
