it happened back in preschool (near kindergarten)...
IT WAS JUST A NORMAL DAY FOR ME, I SWAM TO SCHOOL AND MET UP WITH MY FRIENDS. AND IT WAS AFTER LUNCH WHEN NONNY CAME OVER. I WANTED TO ASK HIM SOMETHING
Oona- "Hi nonny!"
Nonny- "hello".
NONNY WAS A VERY GOOD FRIEND TO ME, BUT FOR THE LONGEST I'VE KNOWN HIM, HE NEVER SAID MY NAME.
Oona- "say nonny, I wanted ask you a question"
Nonny- "sure"
Oona- "why are people shy?"
NONNY STARED FOR A SECOND, HESITATED, THEN GAVE HIS ANSWER
Nonny- "Well some people are nervous talking to people, not because they don't like them. But cause they're worried they won't like him or her."
Oona- "but what if one person or more already do like him ?"
Nonny- "I guess he'll never know until he or she tries to play with them"
Oona- "could there be any "other reasons" why he is shy?"
Nonny- "Well, he could like this girl. But he likes her too much to say anything"
WHEN HE SAID "LIKES THIS GIRL" I KNEW I WAS GETTING SOMEWHERE!
Oona- "but why?"
Nonny- "cause he's worried that he'll make himself look stupid, and I- er, I mean He is to shy to say her name"
Oona- "Nonny you don't have to feel shy, I like you the way you are already. Your my friend and I say Nonny because you're my friend!"
AND SUDDENLY NONNY SAID SOMETHING ILL NEVER FORGET...
Nonny- "Thanks...oona"
Oona- *GASP* Nonny! You said my name! Hey everyone Nonny just said my name!! He said oona!!
Molly- "WOW!"
Gil- "No way!" "That's incredible"
Goby- "WHOA! Unbelievable!"
Deema- "I-cannot-believe-it!!!" Way to go nonners!"
Oona- "doesn't it feel better to say my name now Nonny"
NONNY- "yeah! It feels great. It just sounds great too- OOOONNAA. *lovingly sigh* I just love that name now "Oona"
ONLY THAT TIME HE SAID IT WITH PASSION AND ROMANCE IN HIS VOICE. I COULDN'T HELP BLUSHING!
Mr. Grouper- "alright everybody line up! It's time to go outside"
Molly- "Mr grouper! Nonny just said oona' s name for the first time!"
Mr. Grouper- "that's great Nonny! Congratulations!"
NONNY- "thank you Mr. Grouper, c'mon OONA! Let's go play"
Gil- "it's incredible I've never seen Nonny so excited before?"
Deema- "it must be..LOVE"
AND IT FELT LIKE IT TOO! THE WHOLE REECES NONNY AND I PLAYED TOGETHER. HE PUSHED ME ON THE SWINGSET, I TAUGHT HIM TO CROSS THE MONKEE BARS. AND THE WHOLE TIME...HE WAS SMILING.
Nonny- "thank you oona"
Oona- "for what?"
Nonny- "for asking that question, I never say this a-lot but I like it when you ask me questions"
Oona- "your welcome"
Nonny-"And if you hadn't, I wouldn't have gotten over my shyness"
AND THEN HE LEANED IN...AND KISSED ME ON THE CHEEK! <3 I DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER TO KISS HIM BACK OR JUST KEEP SWINGING. SO FIRST I KEPT SWINGING, THE LATER ON WHEN I WAS SWIMMING HOME WITH HIM I PULLED HIM ASIDE BEHIND A CORAL CLIFF
Nonny- "oona!? What we doing behind here?"
Oona- "I'm giving you reward for being so sweet and brave"
AND THEN I KISSED HIM BACK! IT MUST'VE BEEN GREAT FOR HIM CAUSE THE WHOLE WAY HOME HE WAS SPEACHLESS! (HA HEH HEH) BUT OCCASIONALLY HE'D LOOK OVER AT ME AND HE WAS SMILING AND BLUSHIN' THE WHOLE TIME. HE FINALLY BROUGHT ME HOME AND SAID.. "G'night oona, seeya tomorrow at school"
I COULD'VE SAID THE SAME THING, BUT INSTEAD I KISSED HIM AGAIN! AND THEN SAID IT "goodnight Nonny ;)"
SO HE SWAM HOME WITH HIS HEART LIGHT AND HIS SPIRITS HIGH. AND THAT'S THE STORY OF MY NONNY.
