you had no idea what happened. You guys had been best friends ever since that night, the night he got his power. There were a bunch of kids around, begging to play with him, and he ignored them all. Yet he came over to me, asking if i wanted to play with him. I was so shocked, a madrigal wanted to play with ME? i couldn't have declined. We played all night, till i had to go home for the night. We've been inseparable since, and everyone knew it. We're 15 now, and still inseparable. We even have matching rings. He has a sun, I have a moon. But recently, i've started feeling different towards him. When we're together i feel a rush of energy, heat floods to my face, and i can't help but want to stay with him forever. I don't think he notices the way i feel, but if he does i don't know what i'll do.

My thinking was cut short by a yellow blob of curly hair running up to my window. "Y/N!" he screamed, clearly out of breath, "you have GOT to come see this, it's awesome," he spoke between wheezes. I was bored out of my mind & it was either spend time with him or die of boredom, so i slipped on my shoes and headed out with him. His super awesome thing to show me was a broccoli plant. "Camilo, i know you've never seen healthy food since you're a guy and clearly that doesn't suit well with you, but this is not awesome." He looked at me, dumbfounded, "i do so eat healthy-" i cut him off, "like what, apestoso?" he rolled his eyes at my chosen nickname for him, "i eat fat free candy." I laughed, walking away, he grabbed my hand and pulled me back, "where are you going, hermosa?" i blushed at the name, "to get Antonios present for tonight." He let my hand go, yet followed me like a lost puppy. I didn't know what to get him, at all. I knew he liked animals, like most 5 year olds, so i finally picked out a cute bandana, with lions, and tigers, and other jungle animals on it. Camilo smiled, indicating he liked the gift. "hey y/n, can that gift be from both of us? you certainly topped what i was going to get him." i nodded, smiling at him. "hey, it is NOT my fault you have the fashion taste of an old person." He huffed and say down, we had a ton of time to kill, since the party isn't till sundown, and it's still pretty light outside, which gives us about 3 hours left. We had no idea what to do in the meantime, so we took a walk around town, him shapeshifting into random people whenever he found the chance. Finally, the sun started going down, so we made our way to Casa Madrigal. I ushered Camilo to go with his family, him whining the whole time. Finally, Antonio came out. He looked so scared, I can't imagine what he must be thinking right now, with the last ceremony not going as planned. Antonio looked to the side of the house, motioning for someone to come with him, i looked and it was Mirabel. i thought to myself about why she wasn't up there with her family, zoning out. I realized that by the time i snapped out of it, Antonio was about to open his door. He touched it, and a toucan flew onto his hand. He started talking to it, which made me chuckle a little knowing what i got him. Once people started walking into his room, I found Camilo and got out our present for Antonio. We walked up to him and gave him the gift, he squealed in excitement, putting it on. I hugged Antonio and told him i was so proud of him, also greeting the rest of the Madrigals. Camilo gave me his hand, asking me to dance with him. I agreed and we started dancing with each other before being interrupted by Mirabel running in. "THE HOUSE IS IN TROUBLE ITS CRACKING EVERYWHERE!!" she screamed, me and Camilo looked at each other worriedly as His Abuela followed Mirabel to go look at the damages, before she came back in saying it wasn't true, and the miracle lives on. "Camilo, i'll be right back." he looked confused before nodding, and i walked to Mirabels room, or the nursery. She seemed sad, so i knocked on the door. She opened, and looked puzzled. "y/n? why are you here?" I hugged her, "i'm sorry i just wanted to check up on you."  she started crying, "you probably think i'm crazy too, huh?" i shook my head, "absolutely not! you have no reason to lie, you love your family too much for that, and you love Antonio too much to ruin his night. I know you do." She smiled at me, "i don't know what's going on with the house, but i think my tio Bruno might have something to do with it." my eyes widened, "Mirabel, you know we don't talk about Bruno." she looked down, "i know," she began, "BUT! he had to have had a reason to leave, right?" i nodded, "yes, but what do you think he has to do with it?" she shook her head, "i don't know, but i need to find out. Will you help me, y/n?" my eyes widened, "me? are you sure?" she nodded, "yes, nobody else would be willing to, please, please." i sighed really loud before nodding, "i'll help you, but it's getting ready late, i need to tell Camilo i'm going home. Mirabel, we'll continue this tomorrow, goodnight!" i waved before exiting, shutting the door behind me, i found Camilo in the kitchen, pretending to be his sister, Dolores, in order to get more food. I nudged his arm, and he fell, transforming back into himself. I hugged him, "I have to go home now, but i'll talk to you tomorrow, goodnight apestoso." i laughed, "goodnight hermosa," he spoke. I walked home with butterflies.
