Drawn Together - A Lams Fanfiction (Collab With E_musician)

Chapter 1

(John's POV)

I start to gather my equipment for another art stream since I haven't done one today. I think I do one or two a day now, I'm not completely sure. It's pretty fun I get to draw and I take requests from the chat. It's all pretty chill and everyone gets along for the most part in the chat.

Alex got set up with the computer in the other room. "Ready for another stream?" I tease my roommate. He shrugs. "It's easy now. I've done this like 100 times." He jokes and sits in his comfy gaming chair. "Let me know what's requested today then." I laugh and go to my room to start the stream.

I start the stream in a different room and start to ask the chat for suggestions on what to draw. Alex watches the stream in the other room and is my chat mod. The chat knows that he's my roommate but Alex hasn't ever came on camera or been on the stream he just helps run things from behind the scenes for smooth sailing.

"They're requesting more turtles!" Alex shouts from the next room. "Turtles again, huh?" I laugh into my headsets microphone as I start drawing probably the 10th turtle the chat has requested this week. Mostly I draw animals but sometimes I'll do requests and actually get paid for some pieces. This is why I love my job.

After about 30 minutes of talking and drawing the turtle I start to get new requests. More animals mostly like lions and giraffes. I chose lions since they're Alex's favorite and I know he's watching this stream. I tell that chat, "So lions are my roommate's favorite animal actually." That's when one person in the chat requests; draw your roommate.

Soon, the entire chat is flowing with people requesting me to draw my roommate. "Guys I don't think he's comfortable with that-" I say but no one listens to me. God, it's kindergarten all over again. I open a new page on my drawing tablet and draw a stick figure with a grumpy face. "This is my roommate." I say and laugh. I hear a loud laugh and a "HEY!" come from Alex in the next room.

"You asked and you received chat", I say, but they don't seem to be content with that so I finish drawing the lion then decide that's a good place to end the stream for now. After I end it and put up the equipment Alex comes over to my room. "I'm not that grumpy", he says while still laughing.

"You're pretty grumpy when I try to get you to go for a run with me at 6am." I tease him and finish putting my camera away. "Yeah well no one in their right mind gets up at 6am and I don't have my life put together!" He rants and flops onto my bed, cuddling my turtle plushie that he got me last Christmas.

"I do have to give you credit for such a nice save though", Alex says, "you got them to calm down momentarily and got some of them to stop." "Well you are my best friend I say, and you know where I live so-", I start to joke. Alex playfully punches me in my arm. "You still got my back though", Alex says.

"Always have, Always will." I say, quoting some random stickers my parents used to have on the wall. Alex chuckles. "Well no more streams today, right?" He asks. I nod. "Nope. Plus we have plans tomorrow so only 1 stream tomorrow." "What plans?" He asks, utterly confused. I chuckle. "Birthday plans for Liza. Maria is setting up a surprise party for her and she wants us to help."

"Okie dokie", he replies. "We should probably get ready for bed though, this is the latest stream we've ever done", I say looking at the clock that reads 11:30 pm. "Goodnight", Alex says going back to his room. I've known him long enough to know that he's still going to be up writing fit at least 2 hours.

Yet, I can never get him to sleep. I've literally tried everything.
Boring documentaries? He liked them!
Warm milk? Lactose intolerant.
Calming music? Speaker died.
Whale sounds? Hates the ocean!
Everything I've tried failed so I gave up. I let him work until he passes out then I make him a coffee in the morning. It's the best friend thing to do.

I wake up in the morning, get dressed and immediately start setting up for the stream. We have to be at Maria's house in a couple hours so this one unlike yesterday's was pretty early in the morning. I go to the kitchen to give Alex a heads up. He nods and takes his cup of coffee to the room and starts to get ready to monitor the chat.

I start the stream and am surprised to see that more than half of my usual audience is watching already. I kinda assumed everyone would still be asleep but time zones are weird. Plus, I'm sure 70% of my audience doesn't sleep like Alex. "So what are todays requests?" I ask Alex and the viewers. "Penguins, me and- hold on someone needs to be blocked." I chuckle. "Wow. We ain't tolerating haters this early in the morning."

"Well we'll start out with the penguin", I say, "It must be nice to have a frozen desert as your home never have to worry about your air conditioning breaking." I think this is the first time I've drawn a penguin now that I think about it and it's not too bad for it being 7 in the morning.

"You got a DM from someone asking for you to draw their dog. Do we have time for that?" Alex asks. I sigh. "No but I'll save that and do that tomorrow."I say as I finish the penguin then turn off the stream. "So how many people asked for a drawing of you?"

"Eh, about the same amount of people from yesterday some were still laughing about the angry stick figure, I don't blame them for finding it funny.", Alex says. "Welp only so much we can do, ready to head to Maria's and plan the best birthday party ever?", I ask. Alex nods and we start heading to Maria's house.

"You think Susan will be there?" I ask Alex. He nods a bit. Susan is Maria's 3 year old daughter that she had with her ex- who is to not be named. Eliza pretty much adopted her once they got together so we know Susan is having the best life a little girl could ask for. Aka, she's so fricken spoiled.

As soon as we get there we start setting up, especially since Eliza will be home from work in about 2 hours so we have to speed run this. It takes almost until the last second to decorate but we did it. That also leaves us with only a couple minutes to hide though. The whole friend group finds hiding places except for Maria and Susan who wait for Eliza to walk in the door.

Eliza walks in and kisses Maria's cheek. "What are you two doing waiting for me?" She laughs. Everyone jumps out from their hiding places as Maria turns on the lights. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Everyone screams. Except for Susan. Once everyone's quiet, she hugs Eliza's legs and yells "Hap-py Bird-Day!". Everyone laughs at her adorableness.

The festivities began after that. We played a couple party games and Susan destroyed everyone in limbo. Everyone was having lots of fun. I was right the best birthday party ever. I hope Maria and Eliza have fun with Susan tonight though, the kid's definitely going to be on a sugar rush.
