Chapter 4 ( An old friend )

After I was finally able to catch my breath I went to go clean the broken plate and food off of the floor. I sat down on the couch somethings I was barely allowed to do and watch some TV I was flipping through channels and I just put on scooby-doo and watched about 3 episodes by that time it was about 12:00 so I decided to take an hour nap and clean up a bit around the house so put my head against the pillow on the couch and put some music on (Matt Maltese ofc) and slowly started to doze off when Less and Less came on.

—4 hours later and 25 minutes later—

I was up and got scared and looked at the clock on the wall and I jumped up immediately realizing that he was probably gonna be home soon because sometimes he likes to get home early and "surprise" me so I can freak about the house not being clean enough or me not finishing cleaning and done with my chores and he always likes dinner done or on the table by the time he comes home. I throw on some sweat pants and a hoodie and grabbed a mask to cover up my red and bruised cheeks. I got in my car and tried to get to the grocery store going over the speed limit and was able to find a parking space so I jumped out and grabbed a cart.

I walked in and was almost done all I needed was lettuce, a pack of cigarettes and a beer, I finally went to the isle they were on and was lucky because I was able to grab the last pack but unfortunately I couldn't reach the pack of beers I couldn't understand why they are on the top shelf so I was on my tippy toes and still couldn't reach it then out of nowhere a man comes up behind me and grabs the same pack I was trying to get I turned around "Hey can I get those I was here first?" he then looks at me and says "Sorry but I'm having a party and need these but I can get you another pack and I'll even pay for them" he said and when he turned his head I was shocked because he was so beautiful and had the most amazing brown eyes that even sparkled and then I realized I knew him his name was Star we used to be friends before Andrew made me cut off all my friends and said I only needed him and that he would never hurt me only love me and like an idiot I believed him and to be honest I used to have a crush on Star but he got a girlfriend if I'm really being honest the only reason me and Andrew age together a because o wanted to get over Star (he was always a player and it's not like if ever even have a chance) but it's not like they were actually dating he does this thing where he always has a one night stand he was bisexual so it gave him options his words not mine.

I say "Star?" and he looks at me for a minute and says "KAYDEN?" and then he pulled me into a tight hug and says "OH MY GOD WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THIS TIME? I'VE MISSED YOU" I smiled and leaned into the hug and said "Yeah I've missed you to" and then we separated and then he said the one thing I dreaded hearing "So how are you an Andrew?" and all the excitement dropped from my face and I said "We are okay he has a job at a nice law firm now" and then he asked the question I wanted to avoid at all cost he said "Why are you wearing a mask?" he said with a confused face and then all the color drained from my face "I'm sick and I don't want to get everyone else sick but I needed to get groceries" I awkwardly laughed as I finished the sentence.

He could since the wanted to avoid the question in my voice and said "Hey how about we go to a cafe after we finish paying?" I said "Yeah let's do it" which would be a mistake later on.

But honestly I didn't care for once In a while I felt something it almost felt like freedom.
