Chase was sitting on a couch. He looked up from what he is doing, which was reading a book while listening to music on his headphone. He pulled out his headphones, "Huh? ... sorry Shelby. You said something?"
"Yah!" Shelby groans. "Chase. You like Riley so why the - -
Chase interrupted her like a snap of the fingers.
"Wow, hold on there a second."
He put up his hands to silence her before continuing. "I ... I don't like - -
Shelby interrupted him this time with a cross expression.
"Don't you dare lie. We all see the writings on the wall. You and Riley have something special but you guys are too dumb or stubborn to admit it - - "
"... so tell me." she added, "Why are you dating a girl you met like about few minutes ... did she drug you?"
Chase gapsed, he shook his head. "Of cause she didn't! Wait- - " he thought for a moment. "Are my eyes red?"

"Then she didn't drug me. Look Shelby. I can't tell Riley how I feel about him."

Chase bit his lips, taking in what Shelby was saying. "I guess, the reason I am dating Kaylee was because I thought dating a girl would distract my mind off of Riley but it doesn't seems to be working. The more I am with Kaylee, the more I want to be with Riley If that makes any decent sense."
"Sure does." Shelby assured him what he said was sensible. "Chase the more you try to avoid your feelings, the more your feelings would grow. It makes complete sense. Your heart and mind are trying to tell you to go with Riley. Don't get me wrong. Kaylee is a great girl but she isn't the one for you - -"
