Chapter 3- All's Well That Ends Well

The next day, when The Chaotix was running towards Sonic and the gang, tails fell out of Espio's hand.

"Okay, everyone. Tails is right here in my ha- wait, where did he go? He was in the palm of my hand just a second ago." Espio said, confused.

Then it hit him like a truck."Oh, no! I DROPPED HIM! I DROPPED TAILS!" He exclaimed.

"We have to find him! Everyone look around! And keep a close eye out! You never know where he could be. Plus, we don't wanna accidentally step on him." Sonic said.

"Oh, and just so you all know, if ANY of you step on Tails, wether it's accidental or not, I will NOT hesitate to use my Dark form on whoever squished my little buddy. Got it?" Sonic said in a very serious tone.

Everyone nodded. The search began. They looked everywhere. They were starting to lose hope, when suddenly they heard a voice. "Help me! Someone! If anyone even finds me! Please help! This spider's gonna eat me!" The voice called out.

It was Tails! (A/N: Tails shrunk a bit more overnight) Everyone started looking and found the web Tails was trapped in.

Sonic grabbed Tails and cleaned the web off of him. Meanwhile, Espio stabbed the spider with one of his kunai.

Sonic grabbed the shrink ray Tails had built and flipped the switch to the 'reverse' setting. Then he aimed the ray and fired. There was a bright flash of light, and everyone reflexively closed their eyes so they didn't get blinded because of how bright it was.

When they opened their eyes again, there stood Tails, back to normal size. Sonic turned off the ray and ran to Tails, hugging him. He was so happy to see his best friend back to normal.

Tails prayed that the ray didn't go haywire again, but there was no way of telling what would happen. But for now, he just decided to enjoy the moment and hugged Sonic back.
