Evantually, I gave in to Courtney's pleads and agreed to go out. I let her do my make up and choose my outfit.
When I looked in the mirror, I was speechless. No longer was I boring old Taylor, I was the new and improved Taylor Green. My black hair was curled and bouncy around my shoulders, my lips were red and my outfit was sexy yet classy. I felt so much more confident in my own skin. I was so overwhelmed I started to cry. "Hey! You'll ruin your mascara!" Courtney warned me.
As soon as we were both ready and about to leave, Courtney quickly said "Oh wait, I forgot to put my lipstick in my bag!" As I assessed my outfit one final time, I realised that Courtney had been a full 6 minutes.
"Court, Courtney, you okay hun?"
Nothing.
"Hello?"
Nothing.
The silence made me shiver. Something wasn't right. As I went into her room, the hideous sight made me gag. There, Courtney laid with a syringe by her side. Her face motionless, her body frozen. I ran, screaming her name.
No reply.
My mascara made my tears leave streaky black lines vertically along my now blotchy face. I checked her pulse.
She didn't have one.
I couldn't cope. I couldn't stand up. I had to. I had to call an ambulance. I shakily stood up and dialled 911. A woman picked up the phone "Hello, what service do you equire?"
"AMBULANCE!" I practically screamed at her. Now, an man was on the other end of my phone,
"Hello ma'am what do you need the paramedics for?"
"My friend, she's lying on her bed, I've tried to wake her I've checked her pulse and nothing's there. I need you to come as soon as possible!"
I gave him the address and he said they'll be on their way now. They better. I've had a lot of people leave me, and I'm not letting Courtney be one of them..
