After following Donovan's directions to get to Lucifer's study room, He arrived in front of a wooden door with a golden doorknob. He knocked on it and waited until he heard Lucifer's voice call out a moment later.
"Come in Lawrence!"
He opened the door and went inside. The room was a mess, with Old papers strewn on the floor and on Lucifer's wooden desk. There's a grandfather clock on the right. The walls are painted maroon and there's a bookshelf on the left side of the wall and a black filing cabinet. Lucifer is also sitting on a leather office chair. The wooden desk he is using has a table lamp.
"Done already?" Lucifer stated as he raised his eyebrow at Lawrence and continued back to writing.
"Donovan let me off early so I can help you."
"Ah! So thoughtful as always." Lucifer smiled.
"How'd you know I was the one waiting outside?" Lawrence asked confused.
"I already know how Donovan knocks."
"Oh ok, You weren't kidding when you said you were busy look at all these paperwork!" Lawrence pointed to the scattered mess of old parchments. They seem to be soul contracts and report statistics of souls that arrived in hell.
"And now you know what a king deals with every day." Lucifer grumbles.
"Well, how can I help you?"
"You can start by sorting out the papers. Before you do..." Lucifer snapped his fingers and fire forms into a shape of a chair as it manifests next to him. The flames dissipate as the chair turns out to be a red recliner.
"...You can sit next to me if you get tired." Lucifer winked at him as Lawrence looked at him with astonishment.
"That was so cool! How'd you do that?"
"Magic." Lucifer smiled as he waves both of his hands.
"That was amazing! Do you think I can learn it too?"
Lucifer blushed at his compliment but frowned from what he remembered from Gabriel of him in hell because of it.
"You can but it'll cost your soul so I prefer you don't. Trust me lad it's for your own good."
"That's a bummer." Lawrence said his expression dejected.
"Look on the bright side at least you have me." Lucifer said trying to cheer him up.
"Yeah you're right plus I still need to go home." Lawrence's statement made Lucifer upset but quickly hid it behind a smile.
"That's the spirit! Now, how about we get back to work? These papers won't do themselves you know."
"Right." Said Lawrence as he picked up the scattered papers on the ground and neatly stacks them. Lawrence noticed an odd soul contract and decided to inspect it.
"Who would sell their soul for a sandwich?!"
"Hahaha! You'd be surprised at how many ridiculous things people sell their souls for to me." Lucifer laughed in amusement.
"I can see that, and they use blood as ink to sign?" Lawrence looked at the other soul contracts filled with blood signatures.
"It's a way to seal the deal, think of it as them binding their souls so they can't go up once it's their time."
"Uh huh and you get many of these every day?"
"That's right lad." Lucifer nodded.
"How?"
"Whenever someone unlucky enough to summon silly ol' me to the living world I grant what they desire and then came this." Lucifer explained as he held out the paper in his hand.
