Nope.
No.
Notta.
Too slutty.
No way!
"Why is finding a dress this hard?"I ask myself as I browse through the latest fashions in the trendiest boutique in town.
This place had been my last resort, seeing as I had already scoured through almost every dress shop in town searching for the perfect prom dress.
Lightly tapping my cell phone against my chin thoughtfully, I sigh in frustration making a mental rundown of any shop I may have missed, and bingo, I remembered there was one on the outskirts of town. It was slightly out of my price range, but there was no harm in looking right?
I thank the lady at the desk who looks only a little pissed that out of all the nicest dresses she has shown me I was leaving empty handed.
Just as soon as I hop in my brand new Range Rover, a supposed gift from my absent father, my phone rings. The caller I.D. says its my step dad and I toss the phone to the passenger seat. I'm in the middle of a semi fashion crisis and dont really feel like hearing about his latest list of things I need to get finished before the end of my senior year.
So far, I've filled out countless applications to schools HE wants me to attend, I've had to write, and re-write my resume full of all my accomplishments, and I've done so much community service to add to "said resume" that the small town I live in will flourish for a year.
I'm done worrying about all of that, and just want to finish school as a normal girl, who's finally caught the attention of her life-long crush and is actually going to the biggest school dance of the year with him.
Just thinking about it puts the silliest smile on my face, and OF COURSE im still grinning like an idiot when I notice I'm stopped at a stop light right next to an unfamiliar black car in the lane to the right of me, whose gorgeous driver is staring pretty intently my way. I glance away and feel the heat spread through my cheeks.
I bravely sneek a peek at him again and he's still staring, with a cocky smirk, probably wondering what the crazy looking girl is going to do next. Finally gathering my senses I face forward and regain whatever dignity I have left, but just couldnt help it. Looking again, the guy was gone.
Suddenly I hear honking behind me and when I look up, the light is green.
Damn gorgeous guys with their pretty eyes making me look like a damn fool at the intersection.
Slowly pulling forward, I check the road to the right and see that it's empty and shake my head. What am I worried about anyway, I have a boyfriend, sort of. Thinking of another guy seems wrong.... maybe I should go back and get the slutty dress if I'm going to be thinking about other guys.
"Other HOT guys." I mumble to myself.
Eye on the prize Hannah. You've already got your dream guy, and if you follow the plans set out for you, your life is set.
But still, as I pull into the parking lot of Madame Giselles dress shop, I'm picturing the bright green eyes and toned arms of a guy I'll never know.
ped into the store and caught the eye of the clerk who was on the phone. While I waited for her to end her call, I casually strolled around, browsing clothes and testing tiny perfume samples.
The lady was just telling whoever was on the other line that she would call them back, when I saw the most perfect dress that practically screamed out "made specifically for Hannah Breaux!"
It was a deep dark red and had an elegant shiney satin feel. The kind of material I would assume royalty would wear everyday, it felt that nice. I could tell instantly it would hug my slender figure gracefully, and the color would compliment my tan skin.
"Gorgeous isnt it? We just got that one in this week." The sales lady spoke from behind me.
I turned and flashed her a smile. "It's perfect."
"Would you like to try it on?"
"Yes please."
She led me to the dressing rooms and as soon as I had it on, I was bought. It fell to about mid-calve and accentuated my curves. A small slit in the back went up to behind my knees, and the V-neckline showed off just enough cleavage that I wasnt uncomfortable.
It was so beautiful that I hated even taking it off to purchase it, but I managed to do so and walked out feeling happy and relieved.
That was until I got to my car which was blocked so I couldnt back out.
"Seriously! Who parks like this?" I snapped looking around.
"That would be me." an amused voice said towards my left
