Taya's parents sat her down. Instead of blowing her off after she asked about her necklace with the Doe on it an the Stag taken out of it. The necklace changed faint colors like a mood necklace should but the colors never matched her own moods and she always felt, on top of her own emotions, the slight emotion the necklace showed her. It also grew warm or cold at times. There was no clasp to take it off, that didn't bother Taya so much. She liked hers. She had seen a few girls with similar necklaces but with different shapes and not always with animals.
Finally after asking over and over again her parents were finally answering her questions.
"Taya that necklace has another half to it. Your other half. These necklaces come from somewhere. We don't know where. We may be born with them. It's unknown. Everyone has one. And the emotions you feel are what the other person is feeling right now." Her mother explained.
"Then why does it grow warm or cold?" She asked.
"That tells you how far apart you are from him." Her dad answered. "Either he is traveling closer to you or farther away."
"Is that how you met mom?" She asked suddenly.
"It was eventually. I ignored mine for ages then I decided I wanted to find my other half. Now the necklace helps us know where the other one is or how they are feeling at the time. It also alerts me if your mother needs help. The emotions get stronger and almost form words when you find the other half." He explained.
Taya was amazed. A necklace could do all that? That was amazing. She went up to her room to think about it.
At the age of 16 Taya didn't want to go out and find him yet. She would wait a couple years to find her other half. Probably get out of high school. Then she would find her other half.
