Not everything is what it seems. It was a regular day at the F.U.A. (Feathered Units Academy). The date was November 12th, Thursday at 12:20.
Lunchtime would end in 25 minutes and the lunch table was quiet. This table had four friends: Trent, Victoria, Matt, and Anton.
Trent was a well-built fellow who had brown hair and brown eyes, he always wore the standard uniform in school. Victoria is a much smaller person but does very well with academics and robotics. Victoria was a bit darker skinned than the others. Victoria had black hair with striking blue eyes, and she usually only wore a jacket with jeans and an undershirt.
Matt was the muscle of the group who loved lifting weights. He had brown hair with green eyes and just like Trent, wore only standard school clothing.
The last person in the group was the new kid Anton, who had also just joined the friend group. He was a very tall and skinny man with glasses, he was from Cuba. He has brown eyes and brown hair and he always wore a white hat with a hoodie and skinny jeans.
Since the table was quiet Trent decided to start a conversation, "So... What did you guys do yesterday?" He asked awkwardly.
"Well, all I did after school was play Spider-Man and that's it," Anton said, trying to keep the conversation.
"And you?" Trent said, looking at the last two people. Victoria was quiet, she looked like she was lost in thought. Matt's mouth was filled with salad, so he couldn't speak.
The moment the vegetarian finished enjoying his salad he looked up, "I just watched a movie with my family. What about you, Vicki?" He said, while looking at her. There was a long pause before she looked up, confused about why everyone was staring at her.
"What are all of you looking at?" She said, annoyed, thinking they were making fun of her.
"What did you do yesterday?" Anton asked, looking at her in a weird way.
"All I did was sleep," she said.
"Well... what are you gonna do today?" Trent asked.
"I have to look for a job," she replied.
"Yeah, me too. I need work experience," Trent said back.
Matt looks up immediately, looking excited. "You guys can work with me at the restaurant."
"I don't want to flip patties," Trent said in a thinking pose.
"I'll think about it," Victoria said.
"Hey Matt, can I join?" Anton asked, bored.
"Sure," he replied.
Trent had a sinister grin as he looked at the both of them, "Why would you want to work with a vegan? He's just gonna fill you up with leaves," he said, nearly at the point of laughter.
"I'M NOT A VEGAN, I AM A VEGETARIAN," Matt yelled.
Everyone in the lunch room turned to stare at them as those in the group started to sweat and sit down quietly. Then... the bell rang.
The group split up as they had different classes. Trent and Victoria stayed together though, because they were both headed to the same class.
"Let's take the long way, it's too loud here," she said. Trent nodded. Usually, no one takes the long way since the teachers at this school were very strict, but Trent was known by everyone, even the teachers, and Victoria didn't care that much since her parents were always too busy to respond to school emails.
Victoria was only on time for robotics and coding class but that's it. As they were walking the young man's mind began to wander, thinking about where he could go to work. He doesn't want any regular job, he wants something exciting, not some 9 to 5.
