I am sorry I did not write, I have been very busy lately. My birthday was 5 days ago, my friend Sarah came over for the week. Mommy is taking daddy being away, very hard. Sometimes she goes out to town and doesn't come back till dark, I just brush it off. Me and mommy miss daddy, mommy prays for dad to be safe, but I know he is, I know he can make it through the battle. Daddy writes to mommy every day, I really miss daddy. Anyways, Mommy took me and my brother to a movie called "The Sinking of the Lusitania" . This movie was very good. I feel horrible for the families who lost someone during that time. Mommy just got her letter from daddy and she is reading it now. I will tell you what it said when I read it. The letter daddy wrote said, "Hello sweetie, The Americans are settled down in Great Britain right now. President Woodrow Wilson has contacted King George V. we have now become allies, The Germans have taken over the Somme river down in france. Tomorrow we will invade France and take down the Germans with Great Britain." Sarah's daddy does not have to go to war, he has a glass eye. He accidentally stabbed it out by tripping and stabbing it with a rock. Sarah said it was terrifying watching him laying on the floor unconscious, It's time for me to go.
