wouldn't yeji.. go down with it?

felix reconnected his eyes with yeji, his confusion clear enough for her to explain.

"i know we've only just met but this is something i can really only discuss with you.. i'm tired of trying to uphold this perfect reputation" yeji explained, casting her gaze down towards the floor.

while the tiled flooring took her attention, felix began to ponder.

he understood, he really did.

he understood why yeji would want to do this.

but..

"wouldn't that be risky?" felix asked.

pursing her lips, yeji lifted her head and looked into felix's eyes.

it was a different look.. one that people don't see very often, perhaps felix was lucky.

it was a daring look.

suddenly, she quirked an eyebrow.

"none of that is new to me, i skip school regularly, flunk assignments.. i basically take a risk everyday" yeji replied.

felix let an "oh" slip pass his lips as he nodded along to yeji's words.

"if we work together, we can abolish the system.. are you in?" yeji asked.

biting his lip, felix processed yeji's words as she stared at him patiently.

honestly, he agreed with everything she said.

what was making him hesitate was that he felt that it was all too sudden and too early.

"i mean.. i only just got here, i feel like i need to solidify my position in this school before we can go ahead with anything serious" felix replied, causing yeji to grin.

"that's why.. we will take it slow.. remember how the rhyme goes?" yeji grinned, smiling like the cheshire cat.

"slow and steady wins the race" felix replied lowly, gaining a nod from yeji.

"don't think too much about it, keep doing what you do best.. being a girl boss- actually wait, that's me" yeji humble bragged.

chuckling, felix let out a deep exhale.

"you're putting so much faith into me, you know?" felix spoke.

it surprised felix just how easily yeji was able to trust him with something as intense as this.. intense in their books, of course.

but it seemed yeji always wore her heart on her sleeve - if the other person trusts her, she'll trust them.

"i know i am but i'm not nervous and neither should you" yeji smiled softly, lifting one leg to rest over the other.

silence loomed over them as distant noises sounded from different directions.

the hallway was isolated, no sign of anyone other than the pair sat on the staircase.
