Himiko walked slowly, making her way to her locker. Her classes were over for the day, and she needed to get her Science textbook. There was a big test on Monday, and she didn't particularly feel like failing.

She unlocked it, pulling the door open. She reached for her textbook as something fell at her feet. "Nyeh..? What's this?" she muttered to herself. She picked it up. It was an envelope. It was light pink in colour and was sealed with a darker pink heart sticker. There wasn't anything written on the outside.

Himiko blushed a bit just looking at it. It looked like one of those love letters the popular girls would always get. She looked around, noticing the hallway was already empty except for a few students checking their lockers or bags.

She hesitantly peeled back the heart sticker, opening up the envelope. What was inside was a crisp sheet of parchment paper. Himiko pulled it out. On it, was a message written in cursive.

My love,

Does that sound too creepy? I don't know. Sorry. I hope you're doing well. I'm writing this letter to tell you something that's been on my mind lately.

I like you. Like, really like you. But we're not too close, and I don't want to seem creepy or anything, so I'm going to keep my identity a secret for now. You're really cute, and I don't think you would ever want to date me, because I'm like the complete opposite of you!

So I kinda just wanted to write this to get it all off my chest and confess my feelings for you, even though you probably won't accept it. But, I wanna end on a positive note, so...

Remember that you're beautiful and smart and amazing, so don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise!

Love, your secret admirer ♥

Ps: If you wanna send me a note back, tuck it into the bottom of your locker and ill come get it :)

Himiko held the note in her hands, blush covering her face. She had never gotten a note like this before. To think that someone has a crush on her? She doesn't believe it. Part of her thinks it might be a joke, but she hopes it isn't.

She looks around. All of the other students have already gone. She'd be walking home anyways, and the school would be open for a couple more hours for clubs. She decided she had time to write a quick note to her admirer.

She grabbed a pen and paper from her bag, and leaned against the wall to write.

To my admirer,

First of all, I feel really flattered that you like me like that. And, well, I don't know if I can return your feelings because I don't know who you are yet, but don't be so down on yourself. I'm sure I might like
you, even if we are completely different. Anyways, I hope you could tell me who you are. If not today then maybe someday? And if you think I wouldn't like you because you're not a boy or something, Im omni, so gender isn't a problem. I guess Im rambling a bit, but I just wanted to let you know, I guess.

-Himiko

Ps- dont worry, I think the greeting was cute

She looked over the letter, hoping it was alright, and stuck it into the bottom of her locker, so just a bit of it stuck out. Hopefully her admirer would read it and maybe answer some of her questions. She hefted her Science textbook in hand, walking towards the exit of the school.

Luckily, her mom wouldn't mind her being a bit late. She walked out the door. It was a nice spring day, and many people were out, enjoying the sunshine. She saw a few of her classmates still hanging around the school, most likely not wanting to go home yet, so they could spend time with their friends.

Himiko didn't have many friends, except for Angie. Angie had been her best friend since childhood, and she sometimes brought her girlfriend, Miu, around. Himiko didn't like Miu very much, although she wouldn't ever tell her that. Miu was always bragging or making sexual jokes, but Angie seemed to be able to keep her mostly tame, around others at least.

Himiko sometimes hung out with Kaede. Kaede was a really sweet girl who would always help Himiko with her schoolwork, if she understood it herself. So Himiko, didn't have much in the way of friends, though the ones she did have she loved dearly.

Himiko fished her key out of her bag and unlocked the door. She yawned, before calling out to her mom, "Mom, I'm home!" Her mom came over to her while Himiko closed the door.

"Oh, there you are sweetie. I was starting to get worried," she said, absently rubbing her hands together. "Oh, sorry," Himiko said, "I was asking a teacher about an assignment." To be honest, Himiko was a bit embarrassed about the note, and didn't want her mother to know about it yet, especially if she didn't end up going out with whoever sent it.

"That's fine, dear," her mother said, "Why don't you go up and do your homework. Oh, and when you're done, please come down and help with the chores." Himiko nodded, heading up to her room.

She spent an hour studying and finishing up her homework. After helping her mother with chores and eating dinner, Himiko practically collapsed onto her bed out of exhaustion. She was tired after a long day of school, plus her homework and chores.

Himiko Yumeno fell asleep thinking about her admirer.
