Left on Read 📲
At once, we've come to this point,
Where the lights are low,
And the time has changed,
Only to leave us an extra hour to communicate.
But it happened,
IT happened.
The way of life when attraction is canceled.
I gave you a million reasons
Why my heart flutters,
My feet becomes frozen,
And my body shivers in humiliation.
The small nonsexual seductions
I seem to admire so much
But the one I carried graciously
Is when you text me daily.
But today you were late
You showed me different
You Left me on Read so you can refrain from listening
You purposely became defensive,
Leaving dark clouds lingering over the surface
Beyond each and every tear drop of emotion
That flows within individuality of my soul
My heart becomes cold with each drum roll,
Sharing the evident of the last text message you sent
The feeling crawled underneath my skin
Leaving scar marks to agitate within.
An "I Love You, Too" was definitely in order,
As I stared waiting for the perfect response.
But it froze.
Stiffened.
Lifeless.
As if my life didn't matter.
Leaving each of my memories scattered.
You say you forgot to send it,
But I know your mind was hindered,
Wondering if you should send it or not,
So the perfect excuse was to leave me on read,
So you wouldn't have to acknowledge my pain.
