Numbness. That's all I feel. No one can hear my screams as I'm at the top of my special place. This place brings me peace. But today it was anything but that.
It was my mothers 2 year anniversary. She passed when I was 16. When I woke up this morning it took me half and hour to actually get up. I didn't want to. My dad wasn't here. Nobody was. Do you know how it feels when your own father can't even look at you in the eyes because you look so much like your own mother.
It's sad really. I have no one or no where to go.
I stand up as I make my way to my car heading to Brookfield High. The thing I dread the most in life is that damn high school. On the outside it looks well together, but when you actually attend there, it's major hell. Don't even get me started on the people. There are so many cliques like you wouldn't believe. As you may already know, I have my own which just includes me.
As I head into the parking lot, I park my car and head on into hell. As people made their way to class, I headed to my locker to retrieve my belongings for class when I hear someone walking towards me. Once I close my locker, I come face to face with how do you say a "God". He has gorgeous brown locks that look so soft I would love to run my fingers through them. Beautiful colored blue eyes with specks of brown and nice tan skin. But I obviously don't show my shock at how beautiful he is. I just stay neutral.
"Can I help you?" I ask with my tone quiet as usual. He seems to break out his thoughts as he's about to speak to me.
"Um yeah. I was wondering where room 215 is?" He asks in a deep voice. "I'm new here as you could tell." He chuckles softly and my oh my it's a beautiful sound.
"Yeah, that is Mr. Suttons classroom. English. Just to let you know he is a tough one." And quite weird if you ask me. "Just follow me."
He listens to my directions and follows me to the classroom. Everyone who was settling in looked up and there were some girls fawning over who was behind me. Which I completely understand. I went ahead and took my seat and the guy from earlier took the empty one beside me.
time skip
I make my way to the parking lot and see Bryce leaning on my car. Bryce is the captain of the football team. He's those type of cocky guys that think every girl wants him when in reality it's nothing but his stupid ego. He has blond hair with blue eyes but not the same blue eyes as that guy from earlier.
"What do you want Bryce?"
"Hey baby." He says chuckling.
"I'm not your baby. You ruined that chance when you slept with Claire." I said emotionally. I honestly don't care for anything anymore. I just want to leave and travel. That's all. He looks at me with a glare that could kill. But again, I could give two fucks.
I unlock my door and make my way over to the driver's side. Right when I'm about to open the door, Bryce grabs my wrist hard and I could feel it leave a bruise.
"You better watch who the fuck you're talking to." He says harshly. I gulp and pull my wrist back.
"Is everything okay here?" Both me and Bryce look around to see the guy from earlier. I really need to find out his name.
Bryce glares at him and says, "We're good here buddy. Just go back to where you were. It's none of your concern."
"It sure as hell doesn't sound like it."
Bryce turns and looks at me deadly in the eyes but I don't back down from eye contact and he walks away shaking his head.
"Thank you." I say sincerely.
"No problem and I just wanted to come here to say thank you for helping me earlier and by the way my name is Roman."
"Nice to finally put a name on the face." I say quietly.
"Yeah um are you okay by the way?"
"Yeah, it doesn't hurt too bad. Just a small bruise. I'll just put some ice on it." I say reassuringly. "Name is Josie. I'll see you later."
He nods his head and leaves while I jump in my car and head home. Right when I get home I head upstairs, change and watch Dynasty. And of course the house is in complete silence.
