Chapter Three:

It was about 6:30 and I was waiting for Chelsea to come in and relieve me. I heard the bell ding.

"Sophi! you bitch! why didn't you tell me?" I heard Chelsea tell across the shop.

I gave her a stern look, "watch your language around customers or else you can count of losing a week of work and pay."

"Sorry," she mumble coming behind the desk and putting her belongings in the employee closet.

"So what exactly did I do?" I asked, my arms folded over my chest.

"Snake was talking on the live stream about how he came in here last night looking for Tiny Tank. Is that true? You were the only one working last night," she said, speaking quickly.

I nodded slowly, "I don't know about someone named Snake, but a guy came in here before closing asking for that game. We didn't have it so I let him borrow mine. He returned it this morning."

"OH MY GOD, SOPHI!" She screamed.

I covered my ears and glared at her.

"Did he have a deep voice?"

I nodded. Chelsea squealed.

"I can't believe Snake lives near here and shops here."

I shrugged, " I don't even know if it was him or not. And even if it was, I don't really care. He was a nice guy and he seemed pretty cool. that's about all I have to say."

I decided it was best not to tell her about the fact that I might have a date tonight with this possible Snake. She would freak out every where.

I bid Chelsea farewell and headed out of the shop. After stopping at my house to change clothes and touch up my makeup, I went to Daniel's house.

I took a deep breath before getting out my car and going up to his door, knocking.

Snake's POV:

I heard a knock at the door and stood up from the couch to answer it. Pausing at a mirror by the door I looked at my reflection. I don't know why I was so nervous about Sophi coming over.

I mean we were just playing video games. But for some reason I had to keep myself from thinking of it as a date.

I reached for the handle and turned the knob, opening the door. Sophi stood there a small, shy smile on her face.

Her green tee shirt brought out the flakes of green in her blue eyes. She was wearing something so simple but looked so damn beautiful.

"Hey," I greeted her, taking a step back, "come in."

She nodded and walked inside.

"Um, come on. We can just hang out in the living room."

I lead the way and took the video game from her when she handed it to me. Placing it in the playstation, I began loading the game.

"Oh, I forgot to ask you if you wanted something to drink?" I said, mentally cursing myself for being an idiot for forgetting and sounding so damn awkward like a hormonal teen when I asked.

"Uh, no I'm alright. Thank you though," she replied.

I nodded and went back to the game.

After a couple hours we had both tried and tried again on the level and ended up giving up. We were currently taking turns playing through missions on GTA V.

"Are you hungry?" I asked.

She thought for a minute then shrugged, "I could eat."

"Why don't I order us some pizza?" I offered.

"That sounds great!" she said, giving me one of her breath taking smiles.

I got up from the couch headed into the kitchen to place the order.

When I came back to the living room, I saw that Sophi had finished the mission she had started when I left.

"Thanks for inviting me over," she said, turning to me.

I nodded. She placed the controller on the coffee table and sat back into the couch, pulling her feet under her.

"Do you mind if we talk for a bit?" She asked.

I shook my head and joined her on the couch.

"Well, you know what I do for work, but you haven't told me what you do."

I thought for a moment, not really wanting to tell her about youtube and the live stream.

"I test video games," I answered.

Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped.

"Oh my god, that's so cool," she said, "what games have you tested so far?"

"A little bit of everything," I answered truthfully, "but my favorite is tactical and stealth games. Like MGS."

"I LOVE Metal Gear," she said with a smile.

I smiled back, starting to feel myself relax. We talked more about what we wanted to do with our lives, our family and our friends. We had eaten all the pizza except for some scraps of crust. We were both enjoying a can of beer and laughing over stories of our childhood.

Sophi began yawning. I glanced at the clock.

"Its almost 2. I don't want to sound like I'm kicking you out or anything but maybe you should head home," I said, placing my beer on the table.

She pouted, "trying to get rid of me?"

I stood up and chuckled, offering her my hand to help her up, "trust me that's not the case."

I walked her to the door. She turned to face me when we reached it.

"I uh, had an awesome time. thanks for inviting me over," she said with a smile.

I nodded, "me too. Look I'm not very good at this and the whole not being socially awkward thing. But could I possible get your number, and maybe we could hang out again?"

Her smile seemed to widen, "yeah. Of course."

She told me her number and I plugged it into my phone.

"I'll text you later," I said, looking at her.

We stood there for a moment. Sophi awkwardly shuffled her feet and mumbled something.

"Huh?" I said, confused.

Quickly she moved forward and wrapped her arms around me in a gentle hug. I stood there, surprised and blushing.

"You know, when someone hugs you it's polite to hug them back," she said, against my chest.

I chuckled once more and wrapped my arms around her, giving her a tight squeeze not wanting it to end. But sadly it did and I let her go. She took a step back.

"Bye," she said softly.

"Bye."

I watched as she walked out the door. I watched and made sure she made it to get car safely. She gave me a wave as she drove away. As she left I felt a bit if sadness in my gut.

I sighed and headed into the kitchen and grabbed another beer.

"Another night. Another nightmare."
