"I promise," Louis said, reaching out and taking Alexis' hand in his.

"A month ago it was the first time." Alexis took a deal breathe before continuing, she didn't dare look Louis in the eye in an effort not to cry. "The first time he hit me. I had just got in from school about 20 minutes before then Dad got home from work. Something had gone wrong in the office that day and he was fuming, Mum wasn't going to be home that night, she was on a buisness trip. I didn't say a word to him, I just nodded as he past the living room. Seconds later he was on top of me, my head throbbing, tears running down my face. I was in pure shock. He left not long after that, he didn't dare come back until Mum was here too. He'd beaten me till my eye was swollen shut, blood running from my forehead and my head pounding."

Louis looked at her shocked, not knowing what to say. A tear threatens to spill onto his cheek but he quickly wiped it away before she continued.

"Whenever he came home and Mum wasn't there he did the same then disappeared. Eventually it got to a point where every inch of my body had been touched by him, I tried to scrub his sin-filled touch from me till my skin was raw but nothing helped. I didn't want to live in that house anymore, I didn't want to be anywhere near them so I did everything in my power to make sure I wouldn't wake up the next day." Alexis continued.

A small gasp left Louis' mouth shortly followed by a tear.

"They found me unconscious the next morning and rushed me to the hospital. When I came around again the police were called about the bruises on my body. He made excuses about them, saying I played rugby and I had a match the previous weekend with some dirty players. When I was discharged later that week, all they did was shout at me, even Mum was disgusted to see the cuts on my arms. That's when I stopped speaking to them, if they were so ashamed to call me their daughter, why should I call them my parents?"

Louis looked at her completely stunned, when she said to him earlier that she had something to tell him, he didn't expect this. He had no words so instead, he got up, sat next to her and pulled her in tight to his chest. He could feel her moving violently as she began to cry.

15 minutes later, when all the tears had run dry, Louis finally spoke. "Can I look?" He asked, gently holing her arm. She nodded then buried her head in Louis' jumper. Louis began rolling Alexis' sleeve up, being as gentle as possible, looking at her arm covered in cuts.

"I am so sorry you had to go through this Lexi, I should of been there to help, I feel horrible about it." Louis said as a tear fell.

"None of this is your fault, I promise. Besides you left home to pursue your dreams! I'd be mad if you hadn't gone." Alexis hugged him tight before rolling down her sleeve.

"I'm going to go back downstairs and let you be for a while, promise me you'll shout if you need anything." Louis said before heading to the door.

"I promise, I'm just going to unpack my stuff then probably have a nap." Alexis said, smiling at him.

Louis left the room and Alexis slowly got up, went to her wardrobe and began to unpack her suitcase that Louis had filled earlier for her. She found all her favourite t-shirts, leggings, jeans and joggers but no jumpers. He had gotten everything else, just simply forgot to get her hoodies.

Moments later her door opened, Niall emerged and shut the door behind him. "Hey," he spoke softly with his accent, slowly making his way over to her bed. Alexis looked at him, smiled then returned to unpacking.

Niall and Alexis had been close ever since X-factor. Alexis had always been Louis biggest fan and supported him in every step of his music journey. When she found out he was in a band she was thrilled, she begged him to let her meet the boys and finally he caved. Alexis is only a year younger than most of the boys, two years younger than Louis, so naturally, she got along very well with them. But something between her and Niall had always been different. They were practically inseparable, always together, they could tell what the other was thinking without asking, which had its benefits and it's downsides.

"You've been crying?" He asked.
He said it again, this time more as a statement rather than a question. Another tear silently fell onto Alexis' cheek as Niall got up and walked towards her. She didn't trust her voice not to give it away so she said nothing. When Niall got to her, he sat down beside her and placed his hand on her back. She flinched at the sudden feeling of physical touch.

Niall looked at her confused. "May I?" He asked as he held his hand to her face. She nodded, Niall wiped away the tear before placing a soft kiss on her forehead. The warm feeling of his kiss remained on Alexis' forehead for a while after he actually kissed her. She leaned into him, her head on his chest as he picked her up and carried her over to the bed in the middle of the room.

Niall laid her down before lying down next to her and wrapping a blanket around her. Alexis shuffled over to where Niall lay and once again placed her head on his chest. The soothing sound of his heart beating was enough to send her to sleep. Niall began gently playing with her hair as she slept peacefully.

Once he was sure she was asleep, Niall took out his phone and messaged Louis.

Niall:
She's asleep
Louis:
Thanks bud, do you mind staying with her, just to make sure she's okay?

Niall:
Of course I will

Niall kissed her forehead once again before turning off his phone. He began to sing to her, a song that was not yet released to the world. A song that he wrote about her, a song that One Direction knew, they just didn't know who it was for.

That song was Little Things.
