(Draco POV)
Back to Hogwarts I go.. Granted, I'd much rather be there than home. Everything is so dark themed and bland there. It's depressing, really. I can't wait to see Y/N, either.. I really hope she liked the letter and necklace. I can't wait to see her.
(Y/N POV)
We're at the train station, and I'm saying goodbye to my parents. "I'll see you guys soon, okay? And I promise to write you every week!" I wave them off as I hop on the train. I sigh. As much as I love my parents, I'm so glad to be going back to Hogwarts. I find an empty compartment, sit down, and stare out the window, waiting to arrive.
(Draco POV)
I arrive at the station and get on the train. I bid my parents farewell back at home. I just wanted that done and over with as soon as possible. Once back on the train, I try to find somewhere to sit, everywhere is filling up fast. I finally find a not-full compartment and take a seat. "Hope you don't mind me joining you," I say to a girl that's in here all alone. "Everywhere else was full." She looks at me and smiles.
"I don't-" She stops. Y/N...
(Y/N POV)
"Hope you don't mind me joining you," a familiar voice says. Why would I? I'm all alone in here. "Everywhere else was full." I look to him, "I don't-" I begin to say but immediately stop. Draco. I shake my head. "I, uhm, I don't mind at all."
He looks at me and smiles lightly, looking directly at my necklace. "I see you like it," he says softly. I nod and smile. "Yeah, uh," I start stammering. "I, uh, I really do, uhm, like it.. Yeah.."
The ride to Hogwarts is absolutely silent, and I'm not sure if it's because of me or something else, but it sort of worries me...
(Draco POV)
I'm really glad she likes the necklace. It looks so pretty on her. The ride back to school is so quiet though. I'm typically not the type to start conversations unless I'm starting some sort of argument, so I don't know what to do here. I'm not really the socializing type unless it's with Crabbe and Goyle. We end up not talking to each other once after that small bit of conversing, but I don't mind. She's staring out the window the entire time, and I can't stop staring at her. God, she's so beautiful...
(Y/N POV)
We finally arrive back at school. I grab my belongings and head down to my room. On my way to my room, I spot Hermione. "Mione!" I yell. She quickly turns around with a smile and runs towards me. We tightly hug each other. "How was your break?" I ask her.
"Great! And yours?" She asks me.
"It was great! I got the Nimbus 2000 for Christmas!"
Her eyes widen. "That's amazing! After that quidditch match, you definitely deserve it!" Her eyes travel from mine, down to my necklace. "Wow, that's a beautiful necklace, Y/N. Another Christmas present?" I nod. I spot Draco out of the corner of my eye, watching, but I don't make it obvious that I noticed him. "I got it from...a secret admirer," I say, not thinking he'd want me to tell people.
(Draco POV)
She's off talking to that mudblood. Of course she is. They start talking about the necklace, so I stop and try to listen. "I got it from...a secret admirer," she says. I smile and walk off. Oh Y/N, if only you knew...
(Y/N POV)
I get into my room and start unpacking things. Then a girl who I've never seen before comes up to me. She has short brown hair and brown eyes to match. "Hey, L/N," she says walking up to me. I turn around.
"Yes?"
"I need you to stay away from Malfoy."
I look at her, "W-What? But he's like, my best friend. Why would I do that? I don't even know you."
She looks at me and smirks. "Pansy Parkinson, Malfoy's girlfriend." I look down, clutching the necklace. "Oh..."
"I don't like him hanging out with you, you're too nice and pretty. He's already agreed to stop talking to you and hanging out with you. I hope you had a good break and I hope you have a good day!" Pansy says smiling as she leaves. I sit on the bed, still clutching the necklace. I get frustrated and quickly take it off, throwing it across the room. I sit on my bed, crying for a little bit. After a while, I go pick it back up and put it under my pillow. I go up to the Great Hall to eat lunch.
As usual, I find a spot at the Slytherin table and eat alone. Draco comes up next to me, "Hey Y/N," he says smiling. I ignore him. "Woah, silent treatment? What did I do? Where's your necklace..?"
With some tears still in my eyes, I avoid the last question and manage to mutter, "I don't know, why don't you go ask your girlfriend? I'd hate for you to get caught associating with me." He looks at me confused.
"What are you talking about?"
I look at him. "Pansy. She came into the room earlier, telling me she's your girlfriend and how I'm not allowed to be near you or talk to you anymore and how you already agreed to stop talking to me and hanging out with me."
(Draco POV)
Pansy Parkinson? Is that who she's talking about? I absolutely loathe that girl. Why the heck would she tell Y/N that she's my girlfriend?? "Y/N, she's lying. I promise you. That girl is obsessed with me, and I have no idea why. I don't even like her. At all."
She slowly turns and looks at me. She's been crying... "I find that hard to believe, Malfoy. She seemed pretty convincing." She gets up and walks away.
Where is Parkinson? I'm going to kill her I swear.
