CHAPTER TWENTY ONEK Y L E
"Mommy?" I stood confused as a little girl of about six or seven years engulf Macy's thighs.
Macy stood there and looked very confused, first at me then the little girl with whom she embraced back.
"Mommy, do you like my surprise?" She said with a tiny voice as she looked up to her.
"Macy..." I managed voice out, still really confused with what's happening here.
The little girl turned her focus to me and back at Macy then she walked towards me, clutching her backpack.
"Hi!" She waved at me with a smile showing me her incomplete teeth.
"Hello, what's your name?" I waved back with a smile of my own.
"My name is Kylie." She said coming closer to me. "Or you can call me Crystal! My mom prefers that." She further explained.
"What's your name mister?" Her delicate voice asked me but I just stared at her.
I stood observing Kylie's features. Her eyes, as blue as an ocean and her hair, strawberry blonde. Without a doubt she is a really beautiful child. I looked back at Macy who still stood frozen on the spot.
"Kylie, how old are you?" I questioned, going down to be the same height as her, tilting my head.
"I'm..." She paused and counted her fingers. "Eight! I'm eight." She smiled showing me her fingers and I chuckled.
Eight. My head did the math and my heart was beating fast like I was going to get a heart attack.
"Care to explain?" I slowly questioned but she stood still. "I said, care to explain what's happening here?!" I yelled and Macy looked like she was just jerked back to life.
"I can explain." She answered slowly like she was thinking about what to say.
"I'm waiting goddammit!" I replied with aggression and she sighs.
"She's Sophie's dau-"
"Auntie!" Kylie screamed and ran to meet Sophie who was watching from the stairs.
I turned my face back to her, fury very visible in my eyes.
I took a deep breath to calm myself down, "Enough with the lies Alexis. I beg you." I said with my voice breaking.
"I'm not-"
"I just have one thing to ask. Is Kylie mine?" I asked.
Alexis went quiet and kept her eyes on the floor.
"Is she my daughter?!" I yelled with my two arms on her shoulder while shaking her.
"Yes! Yes she is Kyle!"
My hands fell off her shoulders to my side and a tear dropped out of my eyes. She's mine. That little girl is mine.
"S-she's my daughter?" I repeated like I was trying to come to terms with everything.
I've got a kid.
"Kyle..." Macy's voice rang in my head and I looked at her feeling nothing but pure anger.
"You lied to me again." I deadpanned.
"I had no other option!" She tried to defend herself but I just scoffed.
"You almost denied her as your child just now, I never knew you were a compulsive liar."
"Me, liar?! Do you even know why I lied?"
