CHAPTER TWENTY NINEK Y L E
"What?" I asked after coughing violently.
"Or don't you both want to get married?" My dad asked looking at Alexis and I.
I glanced at Alexis who still looked like she was in shock. "Do you?" I asked and she nodded.
"Then what's the problem?" My mom asked.
"We're bound to be surprised, dad just said it out of the blue."
"That's enough. Alexis, you should get prepared. Come in the afternoon for lunch then in the evening for the engagement." My father instructed and she nodded.
I can't believe this is happening. Is this real? Could my father be up to something?
"But what's with the rush?"
"The plan is to have you both married by the same time you were supposed to marry Penelope."
"Wait, does that mean tomorrow?" I gasped.
"Ding ding! Smart boy! So better prepare."
I glanced at Alexis who seemed just as shocked as I was but the smile on her face made my heart lighter.
The table after that was just filled with talks about the engagement and wedding. Alexis reassured my parents that she would take care of everything from the engagement to the wedding.
After dinner was over I walked both Kylie and Alexis to their car. While Kylie and I were talking, Alexis just seemed quiet.
"What's wrong? Did my parent force you into agreeing? If it's too sudden we can move it." I assured her
She shook her head with a faint smile, "It's nothing. I'm just surprised that's all. Did you know about this? Is that why you invited us over?" She eyed me.
"No," I shook my head. "I really wasn't. It came as a surprise to me as too."
"So then this is really happening? We are getting married. Strange isn't it?"
"What's strange about it?"
"Well just that never imagined marrying you. I always felt like I had zero chances to actually be with you."
"You know you could have right? If you had told me who you were, I could have left Penelope."
"That's the thing, I didn't want you to leave her for me. I didn't want to be referred to as a home wrecker or something."
"Let it be. It's over now, and to be ho-"
"So are you and mommy getting married?" Kylie's voice echoed.
I picked her up, "Yes we are." I answered.
"I hope I will be able to attend it." She frowned.
"Of course baby, why wouldn't you be able to do so?"
"I attend a boarding school so I'm not s-"
"Well not anymore. You will school here with your family."
"But Kyle you just can't mov-"
"Alexis, relax. I'll worry about Kylie for now, you should just focus on wedding preparations."
"Well I'm only agreeing to this arrangement because I also want to be live with her." Alexis snorted.
"And well I think it's legal if I kiss you now?" I took a step closer to her but she seemed surprised. I chuckled, "You should go now, it's getting late."
