Annabeth Chase was on cabin duty. She had to tidy up every single cabin at Camp Half-Blood and its new neighbor, Camp Jupiter.
She had reached the Poseidon cabin.
She went to fix the pillowcase on one of Percy's pillows. She picked the pillow up and saw two small boxes.
Tossing the pillow aside, she opened both boxes at the same time.
She almost screamed.
Inside the boxes Were wedding bands and an engagement ring. One wedding band had "My heart belongs to Seaweed Brain." engraved on it. The other had "My heart belongs to Wise Girl." While the engagement ring was covered in small diamonds, two medium sized diamonds, and a very large diamond in the center.
"Could Seaweed Brain actually be-", she pushed the thought out of her head and continued her cabin duty.
Later that evening, Annabeth managed to get some of her evening college classes in before working a very late shift as The Head Architect of Olympus.
She got to her own little two-story house (just a little off the path of the cabins.), and took a shower.
She then dried her hair, pulled her blonde curls into a ponytail, changed into shorts and a tank top, before heading off to bed.
As she walked down the hall to her room, she screamed.
The Poseidon cabin was pretty close so it didn't take long for Percy to arrive. He was expecting a hydra or something, but as Annabeth jumped into his arms, he saw the tiny spider making its way toward them.
"It's dead, Annabeth," he said as he used his sword to kill the arachnid. She nodded and he sat her down.
As Percy began to leave, Annabeth called, "Wait! What if there are more spiders?"
"How about I stay tonight and make sure no spiders bother you?" Percy asked.
Annabeth smiled. "I'd like that."
Percy curled up next to her in bed, after she'd climbed in.
