Now that he had seen him with his real eyes, he wasn't sure what to feel. It hadn't been the first time he saw him but, yet, it felt like the first. Everything from the past came rushing back to him like a title wave. His heart pounded and ached at the same time; he could feel his cheeks heat up at the mere thought of the man. The way his blonde hair dripped with the swamp water of his home and his smile still as bright as ever. He had lost him once, he couldn't do it again.

As the blonde came closer to the man, his breathing hitched— his voice stuck in his throat. He walked past him, only giving a small smile as he passed by, making his way over to his seat at the table. Other rulers of the twelve fractions, coming together again for their monthly meeting. Except this meeting was an important one as it was tradition for a ball to happen on the night of the star show every year.

It was rumoured whoever kissed under those stars were destined to spend their lives with one another.

Scott yearned to experience that but he knew that he was destined to be alone in this new world. Everything was so foreign yet, so familiar to the man as he easily slipped into a rhythm. Memories of a life he had never lived circulated his brain, once a warrior, now a king. The teal-haired man didn't understand but he wasn't complaining.

The man he loved was alive.

Granted, Jimmy had no idea about their marriage and their countless nights under the stars. The grief that he brought Scott when he perished for the first and second time— his third being taken before the man could truly express his feelings. The nights leading up to Scott's own death, he spent crying at his husband's gravestone.

One second, Ren was shoving his blade into Scott's chest and the next, he was waking up in the softest bed he had ever felt. People bowed down to him with smiles as he passed them on the street and a crown adorned his head, a rank of rulership making itself known. Turns out, he was quite the known man— having many allies and friends on his side. Family, however, not so much.

His parents were both gone and his brother had reigned terror over the twelve fractions; Of course, Scott had turned to Aeor for help and the Great Stag of Rivendell had given him the answer he needed. The kidnapping of Shubble was the last straw. Joey and Sausage were released from their trance's and soon, the twelve fractions had returned to a sense of normality.

But, throughout all of that, the King of Rivendell had tried to wake up his oblivious husband— praying to Aeor that the King of the Swamp would wake up and remember the other world. Remember their friends, the fighting, the love and the moments the husbands had spent together but, after months of trying and failing, Scott was losing hope. He was coming to terms with the fact that he may never get to rekindle his love with his beloved. He had come to terms that while he continued to love the Cod, Jimmy would remain oblivious to his feelings.

A sigh escaped Scott's lips as he directed his attention to the floor, suddenly finding it more interesting as he tried to distract himself from the Cod. His blue eyes held their gaze on the brown boots, scared that if he were to look up at the man that he may break down and let it all out and risk looking like a total crazy person in the process. It didn't help that he sat in front of Jimmy.

A hand was lowered onto Scott's left shoulder, the man looking up to see the concerned face of Gem, wizard of the Crystal Cliffs. The orange-haired woman gave him a wary smile as if to ask if he was okay, Scott smiled in return and turned his attention to the table as Katherine, Queen of House Blossom, ushered everyone to find their seat.

With another sigh, the teal-haired elf made his way over to his allocated space— it had been his for two years now but he couldn't remember anything before the past five months. Scott placed his hands on the table and looked up, Katherine beginning to speak. The Elf couldn't focus on his close friend's words, his eyes immediately finding the side profile of Jimmy Solidarity, a man who Scott would never be able to get over. No matter how many lives he lived— Jimmy was the one.
