Later that night, When Richard Scrooge returned to his home, as he was retrieving his keys. He noticed that the doorknocker had taken the form of his old business partner Charley Marley. It scared the daylights out of Richard then disappeared. Richard's heart was pounding as he unlocked the door and went inside. He light a candle which was out of the norm for him and checked all of the rooms in his house. After his search was over, he retired to his dinner and favorite chair. As he ate, he heard the bells over his head start ringing. It got very loud and Richard covered his ears in pain. Then, a strange noise began. It sounded like someone was dragging and dropping large boxes. Richard looked over the arm of his chair just in time to see several safeboxes attached to chains come flying through the door and Charley Marley's ghost following it. Richard was shaking heavily and asked who the ghost was. "In life, I was your business partner Charley Marley." The ghost replies. "Impossible, Charley has been dead these last seven years." Richard said in disbelief. Charley wailed and told Richard that if he didn't change his ways he would have a much longer chain than Charley himself. Richard was frightened but stubborn. The ghost told him to expect the first spirit at the strike of one. Then disappeared never to be seen again.
