The Villain

you were elegant, beautiful, loved. The kindness you had in your heart was pouring out of you. A smile that lit up millions of candles. you always were such a positive person. surrounded by people that cherished you. Like a trophy. I mean who wouldn't you were perfect.
I guess that's why you loved him. He was the hero of course. Someone with a heart like yours deserves a hero. you would fawn over him every time you saw him on the news. Face covered in red whenever you talked about him. Utterly captivated by him. My dear Cassandra
Why not me? Well I guess I know why. All those messes your hero was cleaning up were mine. You must have saw me as the villain of the narrative. The cold hearted, crazy, delusional villain. Though that's not what a villain really is.
A villain is someone who has been broken, torn, shattered, destroyed, and disappointed by the people around them. A villain is a person, who has been wronged all there life and now seeks to find revenge. Or meaning for themselves.
What I wanted was to be noticed. By my family, by the world, noticed by you. Why do you think I made a mess out of the people who wronged you. My dear Cassandra so kind hearted. I couldn't bear seeing these people hate you. So I cleaned them up for you.
Why did you scream and shout at me when I came for you? You knew that I had saved you, from those demons, those people that were jealous and hated you. Why did your kindness turn into hate and terror when I was trying to save you.
The night is imbedded in my mind. It was the first time you met me. You had gotten stuck in a car reck. The other car was burning about to blow. But I was only there for you. Yet you didn't want my help instead you waited for your hero. The same hero that left you to burn in your car while he saved the passengers in the other car. He saved the others first instead of the one person in the other car.
Well it made sense. Save the majority first then go for the person that is alone. But no. You were too late.
The hero that you wanted to save you so bad, wasn't there. You had pushed me away. Now you're gone. You're hero was too late. Instead you caught on fire. But you still saw me as the villain.
I would much rather remain a villain and be hated by everyone then give false hope to those around me. Like how you did to my Cassandra. Because the main difference between a villain and a hero is: A hero would sacrifice you for the world, while a villain would sacrifice the world for you.
