ONLY FOR YOU

"Ggukie.. I have to tell you something."

Jeongguk raised an eyebrow by Taehyung's cautious voice. They were walking back to the hotel now, their hands clasped together.

"What is it?" The ravenette asked and Taehyung nervously began biting his lip.

"I feel idiotic for not telling you earlier how much I like you. I mean... love you."

Not having expected that, Jeongguk's lips turned into a small smile and he squeezed Taehyung's hand reassuringly. "It's okay, you-

"I've liked you for so long though," Taehyung's cheeks were red in embarrassment, but he felt like he owes this to Jeongguk. He pushed Jeongguk away from him so many times, he deserves to know what it was really like.

"When you told me that you are falling for me... that day.." he hesitantly looked up. "I already knew I was too. More... than that even, but I didn't say anything."

Jeongguk's heart sped up, his eyes widening lightly, before his expression softened fondly. "I mean, I think I knew, when you asked me to stay, but hearing it from you.. wow"

His cheeks only getting darker, Taehyung looked down. "I was.. scared. I was scared to love you because of Minhyun. He was gonna hurt you-

"Beautiful," Jeongguk interrupted him with the softest voice possible, "We had this conversation enough.. you know that nothing will happen to me. I knew from day one on, when I chose you for my project partner, that he was gonna hold a grudge against me. I wasn't and still am not scared of him. I already knew what I wanted and I wasn't gonna back of."

They reached the entrance of the hotel and Jeongguk held the door open for Taehyung to walk in. "What did you want?"

Taehyung hid a smile when Jeongguk was back next to him and instead of taking his hand, wrapped his arm around his waist.

"Find out why you were so sad and then get rid of the cause." It was the truth. "At that time, I wasn't in love with you, or at least I wasn't aware of it. But I hated to see you sad and then... scared whenever Minhyun was just mentioned. It pissed me off, honestly."

Taehyung felt his insides melt. "So... you cared from the beginning on?"

Jeongguk's cheeks turned red as they stepped into the elevator. "Yeah.."

"Jesus, Gguk, I thought you find this whole secret friendship thing pathetic-

"Secret friendship?" Jeongguk raised an eyebrow, leaning against the elevator wall. "I never wanted to be your friend, Taehyung."

The brunet remembered Jeongguk telling him exactly that. "You never told me why.."

Jeongguk looked at Taehyung, hesitantly. But he knew he had no reason hiding anything from the brunet anymore. Not when they confessed their feelings to each other.

"Generally.. I just didn't want anything tying me down in Seoul. I was scared that if something like in Busan happens, I'd make the same mistake again and stay, because I don't want to leave friends and family behind. So, I rather didn't want to build any kind of relationship with anyone," Jeongguk explained and Taehyung fully understood him.

The elevator arrived at the fifth floor then and the two stepped out. Taehyung looked down, his lips pressed together as he walked next to the older.

"What's with me?" It was a question asked out of impulse and Jeongguk noticed Taehyung's genuine worry. "W-would you still leave-

"Never. I had a different reason with you. I didn't want to be friends with you, because.." A disbelieving smile formed on Jeongguk's lips. He couldn't believe he was going to say this, "A friendship doesn't work when one wants more, you know? And even though I told myself to not create any strings to anyone, when I saw you like that in the café.."
